Craigeanie Farmhouse is set within approximately 40 acres, including river side access, the perfect base for fishing, walking, mountain biking and exploring the breathtaking scenery and tranquillity of this very special glen.
There is a single bed suitable for a child up to 12/13 years old in the Master Super King bedroom if needed.
The Farmhouse is framed by a traditional stone steading creating a private courtyard area to the rear of the property. Landscaped gardens to the front enjoy views of the river.
Glen Lyon has long been described as Scotland’s longest and loveliest glen. Beyond the farmhouse the glen opens out towards Innerwick, where footpaths lead to panoramic views across the glen, and Bridge of Balgie, where there is a popular tearoom, craft shop and the glen's post office, just 3.5 miles from Craigeanie Farmhouse.
There are numerous country hotels and restaurants in the area, including The Ardeonaig Hotel on Loch Tay, The Fortingall Hotel and bar (seven miles), the Courtyard Restaurant in Kenmore and Ailean Chraggan, and Weem Hotel near Aberfeldy.
Aberfeldy ( 19m) is a charming market town, offering a wonderful selection of individual shops and cafes, the recently re-opened Birks cinema shows new releases as well as live screenings of national performances. There is an excellent choice of golf courses in the area and this is also wonderful cycling country. Loch Tay offers plenty of water sports and the famous replica Iron Age crannog in the loch is definitely worth a visit. Pitlochry, to the north is a bustling tourist town famous for its Festival Theatre, salmon ladder and Dam.
