Sleep Inns aren't the best, but hotels are SO OVER PRICED in Abilene! This was one of the cheaper ones. 2nd floor stunk like a skunk had just blown up the hall way. The room was decent, but the room is worth about 1/2 of what they charge!

I have stayed here in the past but this time there were a few things that annoyed me. First of all, when we arrived for checkin in the mid afternoon, no one was at the counter. We waited about 10 minutes then I finally had to go ask someone to get help. The staff seems to feel it is ok to hang out in the lobby and socialize in full view of the customers. Not sure if this is normal in Texas but it is not a good look. Had a few issues with the room, reported them and as of the day we left, not resolved. I fixed an issue with the toilet myself. Deadbolt did not work. No other rooms available, so we stuck it out. Room was clean, staff was very friendly and overall, it was a nice place to stay for the price. Plenty of parking, easy freeway access, well lighted, clean. Breakfast was disappointing. We stayed several days and all but one day, coffee was warm at best. One time, there was no eggs left and the person running the food area was sitting in the lobby socializing rather than making sure items were stocked. Overall, if you are just looking for a place to sleep, this will work but don't expect more than that.

Check in and check out was not great. Front desk employee was never around, even after following their instructions to get ahold of someone, no one ever showed up until nearly 20 minutes later. The building had tape in a lot of places. Instead of fixing something, they taped it, but not even in a way to hide it or blend or even in a way that actually worked. The room itself was decent. The AC worked well. The TV cut in and out, the mirror closet didn't latch, because it was broken, they tried fixing it with electrical tape, but it didn't hold. The bathroom had some issues too, the toilet seat and lid were practically coming off, the tub was decent, but the was a hole in one of the corners that had some small bugs in there. Not super great. The towels they gave us, on of them had stains on it. Breakfast was nice, not a lot of options, but was pretty decent. The ladies cleaning and working the breakfast were really nice and super sweet and they are the only reason I would even rate this place a 3. For what you pay a night, I would've expected your normal hotel experience, not this one.

Building needs to be renovated; there was a lizard in the bathroom when I got there: the sheets on the bed were stained; the equipment in the fitness center did not work; there were no towels or water in the fitness center
