This hotel was built from the ruins of an 800 year-old house. It doesnât have all of the amenities that are modern construction would, but itâs so incredibly charming. The staff are super competent, and the most charming thing was that none of the rooms have electric lights, but instead lit with dozens of candles. Itâs an incredibly romantic place. I would definitely come back! I loved it so much.
It was a truly an enjoyable experience!!! The hotel restaurant âJoontosâ, with Chef Clint, was probably the best restaurant we ate at during our time in Al Ula. Everything he put in front of us was amazing!! Our tour guide, Sattam, was incredibly friendly. The hotel itself was like going back in time. The staff was super attentive to our needs, especially Hamza, Abu Bakar, as well as Ahmed and Hassan from the restaurant!! The Saudi hospitality was second to none!! The hotel was located right next to Old Town so we were able to walk there in minutes to shops and restaurants. I would go back there again and certainly recommend it to anyone who wants a uniquely Saudi experience!!!
Staying at Dar Tantora The House Hotel was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped into the historic AlUla Old Town and walked through the mudbrick alleyways to the hotel entrance, I felt like I had traveled back in timeâbut with all the comforts of modern luxury.
The hotel itself is stunning. Each room is unique, lovingly restored to reflect the regionâs rich heritage while still being incredibly comfortable. I stayed in a room with traditional plasterwork, beautiful lantern lighting, and a serene ambiance that made it hard to leave. It felt like I was sleeping inside a piece of living history.
The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely proud to share the culture of AlUla. Every interaction felt personalized, from the welcome coffee ceremony to the thoughtful turndown service with local dates and herbal tea.
Would I return? In a heartbeat. Dar Tantora isnât just a hotelâitâs a journey into the soul of Saudi Arabia.
