Great location
This property is in a perfect location for beach goers. Alcúdia beach is only a 1 minute walk from the property. There is no natural shade at this part of the beach so make sure you take a parasol. The villa is a 10 minute walk to the Eroski supermarket or a 6 minute drive the Mercadona supermarket. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk too. The property has off street parking for up to 3 cars. One in the garage and another two in front of the garage, all behind a locked gate, which is great. The villa is big, with 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a decent sized kitchen and a large Lounge/dining room. There is a private roof terrace and a large veranda.
There are a few downsides which is why I didn’t give the villa 5 stars. Firstly, there is no safe, which means there is no safe place to store your passports, phones, wallets etc when you’re out. Alcúdia is a very safe area but no town is completely safe from thieves. A safe can be bought fairly cheaply and I think all holiday rental properties should have one.
Secondly, there is only one air conditioning machine, which is in the hallway. It is strong enough to cool the entire apartment but you have to leave all the doors open, including the bedroom doors. We stayed here in August and if you closed the bedroom door, it was too hot to sleep comfortably. We kept the bedroom door open to stay cool but it meant we had no privacy. So if you’re travelling with another couple or with children, it’s not ideal.
One other issue we had was that there was nothing to take to the beach. No parasol, toys for kids or deck chairs. These things are problematic to bring from abroad due to there size and weight, so it would be nice if there were some things at the villa, as anybody staying here is likely to be going to the beach a lot.
I would still recommend this villa. There are a few minor details most of which can be fixed easily. If they were fixed, it would be a 5 star rating from me.
