Vacation on one of Alexandria's Beautiful Chain of Lakes - License #1816
Our 4-bedroom A-frame offers an exceptional view of Lake Darling. You will feel like you are on the water as you gaze out the lakeside windows. This home is as close to the water as you can get. There are beds to sleep up to 8 plus a queen sleeper sofa and two single sleeper sofas for a sleeping capacity of 12. Three tiers of decks provide a wonderful, relaxing hangout. The property includes 900 feet of lakeshore that goes all the way to the channel connecting Lake Darling to Lake Cowdry. The property also includes a double garage and a fish cleaning room attached to the garage.
Lake Darling is the third largest of the eleven lakes that make up Alexandria's Chain of Lakes. On the Chain, you can spend the whole day on the water.
Lake Carlos State Park is just minutes away. This beautiful park offers fishing, volleyball, swimming, and miles of hiking trails.
Bring your bicycle because access to the Central Lakes Trail is less than one mile away. This trail stretches 55 miles from Fergus Falls to Osakis and then connects with the Lake Wobegon Trail. These trails are built on an old railroad bed, so the grade is easy for walking, pedaling a bicycle, or rollerblading.
Our base fee covers 6 people. There is an additional charge for more than 6. The maximum occupancy is 12.
We enjoyed our stay. Decks are close to the water and a nice place to relax after a day on the water. Owners are attentive to any issues. Docks work great for a pontoon and fishing boat.
Accommodations were right for a family of 11. Nice dock for fishing and place to anchor the pontoon. Lake was good for tubing and jet skiing - not very busy. Hosts replaced a fridge promptly that wasnât working correctly.
The house was perfect for us three couples! Very clean and comfortable and beautiful views and deck. The guys fished and caught fish and we all enjoyed the week we were there!
This was our second year of staying at this property with family (11 of us) for Memorial Day Weekend. The weather was great, the fish were biting and it was very fun and relaxing. We rented a pontoon again and enjoyed time on the lake. The property owners are very responsive to any requests or needs.
Very nice place right on the lake. Almost felt like you were right on the water. Plenty of space & beds for the 6 of us plus more. Little cool when we were there but had nice deck & dock. Great communication & flexible with our check in & out. Enjoyed our stay
Wonderful stay- we loved the covered deck for relaxing in the morning and evenings. Plus the opportunity for us to all have our own bedroom and bathroom space.
We (2 couples) stayed for a week so the guys could fish the chain of lakes. The dock with a boat lift meant no need to trailer the boat to other lakes, and even better, the best fishing was near the cabin.
Everything was great....cleanliness, good beds, communication with Connie!

Plenty of space for family; generally the basics are available in the cabin (kitchen, bathrooms, etc). Not much outside space for littles to play. Back of cabin is right on a county road. Lake is really weedy in this area, although fishing off the dock was good for dummies and some bass. Some TV connection issues.
We appreciated the layout of the house. With 3 different levels, it afforded privacy, yet had a comfortable living room where we could gather. We especially enjoyed the decks and having the dock so close, with a nice boat lift. The lake is very clear, sandy bottom, we could watch the young ones from the deck. Although there isnât a sandy beach, it is such a nice dock area with a short 3 steps into shallow water for swimming. Fishing was outstanding! Only drawback is the front of the house is off a busy county road.
The owners are responsive and great to work with. The property is very clean and everything is in working order. We love the view from the decks and there is plenty of parking for our family gatherings. While the kitchen is smaller, it is very functional. We enjoy being close to the lake.
We (11 of us) had a great time at this property on Lake Darling. We caught sunfish off of the dock, the kids enjoyed playing in the water around the dock. We rented a pontoon from Lake Darling Resort, grilled, had a couple campfires. Weather was great as well. The only downsize is the busy road that the property is located on, could hear the traffic, but we spent all of our time on the lake side.
We enjoyed our stay in this property very much. We loved the location, which is very close to Alexandria and to a wonderful nature trail. The house is right on the lake, so the views were amazing from all three decks! We did notify the owners that the two twin beds on the top floor needed new mattresses, so hopefully that will be addressed. Otherwise, everything was great!
Beautiful views of lake with nice and varied seating options to enjoy. Comfortable layout with multiple sleeping options and convenient access to surrounding attractions. Clean. Host was friendly and easy to work with. Two thumbs up!
Myself and a few friends stayed here. There was so much room for us to spread out and everything we needed was available. Would be a great place and ample room if our kids were to come with as well. The owners were very responsive to questions. We would absolutely stay here again.
Plenty of room for all of us. We really enjoyed the multiple decks and proximity to the lake. Alexandria itself has many places for family activities and places to explore. We will be back!
Cabin was perfectly clean and well stocked. We especially love the two decks at waterâs edge. Plenty of space to spread out on three levels. Lake Darling is our go-to lake in Alex.
