Located in the picturesque old town of Alicante, this charming house offers stunning sea views from the balcony, and from the entrance, you’ll be greeted by the Santa Bárbara Castle. It’s just 3 minutes to the Postiguet Beach, so you can have your toes in the sand in no time, and even less to the city center, with all the history, character, and life that comes with it.
This cozy house is ideal for those seeking privacy, as it’s independent (though attached). The door opens directly onto the street, meaning you won’t need to share a hallway with any other neighbors, giving you the peace and quiet of living in your own little corner of Alicante.
The bedroom is separated from the living room by a small arch with a light curtain. The main balcony can be completely closed to ensure total darkness when you need it. Upstairs, you’ll find one of the jewels of the house: a small rooftop terrace equipped with a table and chairs, perfect for having breakfast while looking at the Mediterranean and the rooftops of Alicante’s most charming neighborhood.
The neighborhood has the charm of a little village right in the center of the city. Here, you’ll enjoy the magic of its narrow streets, the character-filled houses, and the views that accompany you every step of the way. Plus, in just 5 minutes on foot, you can reach the Town Hall and the Rambla, with all the life and activity of the city at your doorstep.
However, due to its age, it’s important to be aware of a few things before making your reservation. This is a special house, full of personality, but it also has a few quirks you wouldn’t find in a modern apartment.
To get to the house, you’ll need to climb a couple of flights of stairs. This isn’t an issue if you don’t have mobility problems, but it might be uncomfortable if stairs aren’t your thing. Also, like any old house, don’t expect the perfect finish of a new build. The house is well-maintained and always clean, but some details may be a bit less “polished” than in a new apartment. On top of that, while it’s always cleaned thoroughly, dust can appear a bit quicker than in other homes due to its age and proximity to the sea. Sometimes, the sea breeze can bring in traces of salt or sand to the balcony, especially if it’s windy. It has its charm, but it definitely doesn’t help keep the dust at bay.
In my opinion (and in the opinion of most guests), none of this is a problem—quite the opposite, really. But I prefer to be transparent and let you know that, if you're looking for a spotless place like a luxury hotel, this house may not be the right fit for you.
But if you’re looking for a cozy place, full of charm, with character, and breathtaking views, you’ll definitely feel at home here.
