Rustic family retreat in the Allier Gorges, nature and hiking nearby

South of the Haute-Loire region, bordering Lozère, lies the village of Alleyras. In the small hamlet of Pourcheresse, overlooking the Upper Allier Gorges, you'll find Joëlle and Alain's gîte, "Le Tourtet."

This renovated stone house, while retaining its traditional style, is ideal for gatherings with family or friends. You'll appreciate the peaceful surroundings, the countryside, and the magnificent view of Mont Devès.

You can enjoy an inner courtyard with a pergola for al fresco dining, as well as a ping-pong table to entertain both young and old.

From the gîte: numerous hiking trails, including the GR470 which passes through Pourcheresse; the town of Alleyras with its grocery store, restaurant, ice cream and drinks stand, and weekly market in July and August; mountain biking trails; rail biking; horseback riding; a river for fishing enthusiasts; whitewater sports (canoeing, kayaking, rafting, etc.); and swimming.

A little further afield: St-Jean-Lachalm (beer and lentil farm, via ferrata); Monistrol-d'Allier (chapels of La Madeleine and Rochegude); Saugues (Tour des Anglais, Museum of the Beast of Gévaudan, ecological lake); the landscapes of the Upper Allier Gorges; the city of Le Puy-en-Velay with its UNESCO World Heritage-listed historical monuments; Mont Mouchet; and more.

All shops and services are available in Saugues. On the ground floor of the cottage, you will find the fully equipped kitchen opening onto the dining table and living area (wood-burning stove, flat-screen TV, corner sofa). A shower room and a toilet complete this level.

On the first floor, there are three bedrooms (five single beds and one double bed) and a shower room/toilet.

Finally, on the second and top floor (converted attic space), you will find four single beds, a reading nook with a sofa bed (sleeps two) and a shower room/toilet.

Baby equipment: travel cot and high chair.

Electricity and heating (geothermal heating) are included in the price ONLY FROM MAY TO AUGUST. (For the rest of the year, from April to September, a heating charge will be charged, payable directly to the owners).

Two enclosed courtyards, each approximately 200m², are at your disposal.

Towels and bed linen are not provided.
