Having seen the good reviews, perhaps our expectations were too high. However, our whole experience was tinged with slight disappointment. The room was nice but the shower ran cold twice, mid-shower. The cups were so tiny it wasn’t worth trying make a cup of tea. The menu for dinner had some great options but they didn’t have both of the mains we had decided on, and hadn’t thought to mention it beforehand. It’s not like we had booked a late table either. I couldn’t eat the risotto as the rice was crunchy, not just al dente. One waitress, Megan, was lovely and was clearly working very hard, while the others needed constant instruction. Lots of noises in the bedroom coming from below; sounded like a hand dryer or extractor. Ordered full English breakfasts in the morning. The waiter presented the plates, minus bacon, saying we had roasted pork belly instead as they’d run out of bacon. On leaving I asked for a takeaway coffee but apparently they had also run out of takeaway cups. There is clearly a hopeful vision for the place but more effort needed to replenish stock and certainly more effort and rapport required from staff, excluding Megan
Binsted Inn was exceptional in all respects. Great rooms as well as food/drink. The highlight however was the friendliness and helpfulness of the Binsted team.
Staff were rude. The room was dirty, as were the tables and just about everything else. The gluten free food was contaminated. We were overcharged at the bar too. A very unpleasant experience!
We booked this for a wedding about 6 miles away. It was easy to access with a taxi late at night. We let them know if advance that we would be arriving around 10:30-11pm and they said no problem, a key would be in the bar area as bar was opened until 11:30. We arrived and the manager brought us to our room, which was lovely and clean, and we then went to have a drink at the bar and chatted with the staff until closing. Great sleep in a comfortable bed, great breakfast in the dining area. We highly recommend this Inn and if we are ever in the area again, for sure we'd stay there. And the bonus as a dog lover who was missing her dog - there was a fabulous statue of a Labrador in our room. We stayed in the Aspen and our windows overlooked the front of building on the street, a thatched roof home directly across, and there was no noise in this very quiet enclave of a village.
Lovely comfortable stay, room spacious, clean & modern. Bathroom equally as good. Staff very polite & helpful. Food was good but on the pricey side for what was provided. Quite remote would need a car around.
Our room was very nice, clean and had all the amenities you need.
But for us arriving back after the pub had closed at just 10.15pm we had to use the night entrance and had to literally climb over all the dirty laundry bags that had filled the stairwell access to all rooms!
In addition, a few minors for us -
Toilet roll - absolutely shocking!
Shower gel etc attached to the wall and very hard to get access to! (Lovely brand through)
Poorly designed shower cubicle with poor flow shower head.
Finally, not your fault but a really hard location to get a taxi to and from for any events you may be attending locally!

Spending just over a week for the Farnborough International Airshow so wanted somewhere outside of Farnborough but within a 30 minute commute. What an absolute gem of a place😊, only 6 rooms but the rooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen team turn out fantastic quality food. Laurie and his team are incredible and so welcoming. I will certainly be making my reservation for the 2026 show.
