The hosts were very nice, available and giving good advice. Breakfast has many options: english, veggie, kipper, etc. Timetable for the buses is available at the hotel and the bus stop is 30 m away. The room is lovely, nicely decorated and large enough. Bathroom was clean and convenient. Wifi is free but works better in the staircase than in the room itself. The guest house is not in the centre town but it is a good starting point for the walks and to take the bus. Don't forget to buy your walker's map at the tourists office!
Fresh and friendly accommodation conveniently located within walking distance of Ambleside, in the heart of the Lake District. Our hosts were ever so friendly and attentive, and the breakfasts were excellent. Our room was clean, comfy and cozy too. Thanks for everything!
Clean and comfortable place to stay in a really convenient location. It is a short walk to Windermere one way and Ambleside town centre the other. Breakfast was excellent (the bacon is amazing) in a spacious, informal dining room and trust me, you must try the rhubarb and ginger jam. Parking is catered for and not a problem. Owners Tina and Steve are such nice people - friendly and as helpful as could be and very knowledgable about the area. It will be the first place I check for availability when I'm next in Ambleside. A great stay - thank you Tina and Steve. PS - I made it up Wansfell Pike no problem :)
Delightful stay with excellent hosts & comfy facilities in the Africa Room (even the leopard print hair-dryer). Breakfast was good & flexible options available depending on dietary needs. Good advice on places to visit by the hosts.
A well kept B&B run by a lovely, friendly couple. Only a short walk from Ambleside and very close to a bus stop with frequent buses all through the central Lakes.
Quick check in, very good breakfast, comfortable and clean room. The owners are very friendly and provide great suggestions for walking trails or places to see / eat. Walking distance to several restaurants and beautiful trails.
We stayed at the Wanslea on a short motorcycle trip to Ambleside. The rooms were spotless and the building is in an excellent location. A member of our party was staying in another hotel but the owners of the Wanslea were kind enough to accommodate him for breakfast. The entire experience was lovely and the owners were incredibly welcoming. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
Lovely stay. Warm welcome from Steve on arrival. Explained parking, limited at property but free at pay and display when displaying parking card that Steve gave us.
Fantastic room, very spacious. Tea, coffee, glasses, cork screw, iron and ironing board.
Great breakfast, order evening before. Cereal, juice available also. Steve and Tina were excellent hosts...not forgetting Charlie. Definitely recommended.
Found a delightful guest house in Ambleside with friendly hosts, Steve and Tina. Our room (1) was spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The room was to the back of the property and was very quiet. It had a small car park, but there are free passes for the carpark nearby. Breakfast was a choice from a set menu which was freshly made.
Great location. Traditional and attractive well maintained building.
Hosts very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast very nice. Room very comfortable. The only issue you could have is with the limited parking. Permits for the nearby parking lot was available also.
Stayed at Wanslea and overall an excellent stay and will 100% stay again in the future.
Owner does everything to help and very friendly.
Just out the centre but thatâs no issue.
Perfect for nearby hikes.
Wanslea Guest House is a comfortable and welcoming place. It is close to shopping and food as well as a short walk to the Windermere cruises. The hosts are so helpful, without being intrusive. Steveâs recommendations for walks and excursions are invaluable. The breakfasts are delicious! I cannot recommend Wanslea highly enough and would definitely visit again.
