Sleeping on a motor Yacht

We are renting out a Motor yacht (10x3) with 3 sleepingplaces and 30 square meters. The boat has a toilet, but no shower. For this you have to go to the nearby swimming pool (300 meters) or take a jump in the water. We provide drinking water in jerry cans. No streaming water. Staying on a boat means privacy. You can smoke inside and hangout on the deck of the boat, but you always have respect to the area and the neighboring boats. Close to tram 19 that takes you to the center of Amsterdam in 15 minutes. We disconnected the Fridge because of carbon monoxide danger. USB loader. Cooking facilities. 12 volts. Please note that our boat is not a 5-star room. It's simple live with not much of luxury.

Great location and value

The boat is very basic but is in a great location not far from the centre of old Amsterdam. (Ignore Diemen as the location). It’s very cheap for Amsterdam which makes up for its basic amenities. You can make use of facilities in nearby cafes and the Public library. The surrounding area is just off the tourist route so you get to see how locals live. Cees was a great host, very accessible and happy to help out and give advice.

Great stay on the canals in Amsterdam

I stayed with 2 of my friends in this cute little boat. We had an amazing time where it was walking distance from the centre. Although there is no running water the host was very friendly and accomodate for us and always made sure we had what we needed. Definitely recommend if you want to stay on an affordable boat in the canals of Amsterdam!!

Lower your expectations

If you're dreaming of staying on a boat in Amsterdam, this is certainly the most affordable. But you get what you pay for; and sometimes not even that. Case in point: This boat is a leaky, mildewed rust bucket. The toilet is dodgy and gross; there's no running water; no good solution for showering (we ended up buying a day pass at Sportcity for 10 euros, about 500m away); the wiring is sketchy; and, when negotiating the bike lock on the front door, either you or it is in danger of falling into the canal. The host was confrontational with my companion when she tried to address some of these issues. Really this place caused a lot of stress that took away from our trip. On the positive side, it's in a pretty good location and the sleeping berth is actually pretty cozy. Although the blankets they give you don't cover two people.

A floating home in Amsterdam

This unique stay is a sure way to make lasting memories. Cees communicated well with us before the trip and explained how everything worked upon arrival. The location was ideal with Central train station a short walk away. We were busy exploring the bustling city so didn’t spend much time on the boat during the day. There are only very basic amenities on board. Be aware of no running water, and limited power.

Das Boot ist sehr gemĂŒtlich zum schlafen und ansonsten sehr rustikal. FĂŒr einen StĂ€dtetrip ist das Boot ein tolles Erlebnis, fĂŒr lange Aufenthalte an Board ist es das eher nicht. Das fehlende fließende Leitungswasser und die winzige Toilette machen es unangenehm lange an Board zu sein. Man kann schön kochen, aber der Abwasch ohne Wasser ist auch Schwierig. Ansonsten prima Verkehrsanbindung.

Lovely weekend stay on the water

Cees was really informative and helpful before our stay, even emailing video explanations of the boat and surrounding area with directions for local amenities and public transport links. The boat is in a peaceful area a short tram or metro ride away from the city centre. The boat is much bigger than in the photos, plenty of room for the three of us. With a really nice deck to sit and spend the evening. Although there is no shower on board, the pool was only short walk away and next to a supermarket and pharmacy. Thank you so much for having us Cees.
