Convenient location off Glenn Highway north of Anchorage. Fred Meyer grocery and gas next door. Room was large with refrigerator and microwave. Mostly gravel parking lot was a muddy lake after light rain. Not enough parking available.

Streaks of bathroom humidity got dirtier towards the floor. Rubber stamped graffiti on the wall. Toilet seat loose and must hold the lid to sit, or stand. Sink stopper broken. Microwave old with mismatched platter… didn’t rotate. Scuff marks on all walls. Smelled of radiator rust and had to keep window open to control room temp. Noisy from every direction - snoring, screaming, walking sounds. Comfortable bed and plenty of hot water in the shower.

I recently stayed at the Microtel Inn & Suites in Eagle River, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location is convenient—just off the highway and close to local shops and restaurants, which made exploring the Anchorage area easy. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities I needed. The bed was cozy, and I appreciated the quiet atmosphere, especially after long days of sightseeing. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One area for improvement would be the breakfast selection—it was fairly minimal, and I would have liked a few more hot options. Also, while the hotel is generally well-maintained, some of the furnishings felt a bit dated. Overall, if you're looking for a budget-friendly, no-frills place to stay near Anchorage, this Microtel is a solid choice. I’d consider staying here again for the convenience and value.
I stopped at a scenic area near the highway and got out of my car to take pictures. I noticed salmon running in the stream and decided to roll up my pant legs and shirt sleeve and enter the stream after one. This picture resulted.

The walls are paper thin. The place was dirty and smelly. It smelled outside like they might have a sewer leak. They had someone banging on the back door in the middle of the night for 15 minutes until I finally got up and called the front desk about it. I will never stay here again.

Hotel needs update, burn holes in room, room was very small, mattress was uncomfortable, not enough parking spots. Will not stay here again. Worst Wyndham property I've ever stayed in.

It was clean but The rooms are small. Not much bigger than the beds feels very stuffed there's just a small wardrobe to hang your things. There's no mini fridge or microwave. The TV was really tiny. Maybe 32 in at best. But still a clean room and enjoyable to stay if the price is right. But very minimal amenities as far as most hotels go
