The Moat House is an expansive late 18th century Georgian era Villa which has been recently renovated, with large rooms and a very high standard of disabled/wheelchair facilities. It is the ideal location to explore Dumfries & Galloway, The Lake District, The Scottish Borders, Hadrian's Wall Country and beyond by rail/car.
History
This large (400m2) property is located on the moat bank of an ancient Mott and Bailey castle that was once the home of the de Brus family, the ancestors of "Robert the Bruce" who was featured in the film "Braveheart". The house itself was once the home of the famous poet Rev James Graham who wrote "The Sabbath".

The house will sleep 10 comfortably in the 5 large bedrooms but will sleep up to 17 using the extra beds and spaces in the house.
