Terrific northern location close to many beautiful Michigan hiking trails and scenic lookouts. Sweet little cabin tucked next to a babbling brook that is quite enchanting.
We absolutely loved the property and cabin. Very relaxing. The only negative part out of our entire weekend was the beds were the most uncomfortable beds Iâve ever slept on. We tried the pullout bed even but it was still hard as a rock just like the upstairs one. We would love to come back but hopefully there will be a different mattress available.
This cottage is everything the listing says it is. Very quaint, very remote. However, the bed was not overly comfortable. The sheets and bedding were something I'd expect to find in a cheap roadside motel, so very disappointing. If they added a few more cozy elements to this adorable retreat, it would be a prefect little getaway.
Dryer broke husband fixed
No vacuum
Construction loud across street
Electric out 12 hrs
Old furniture ( grandma old)
Bathroom located on first floor / bedroom in loft
Contacted vrbo about garbage overflow for 2 weeks . No service. Shouldnât have to beg for that
Stores 30 min plus
Bed way too small for tall people / very hard too
No dishwasher. Everything very old. Good for deer hunters.
Laundry room outside
Dirt road
Left a day early to get out of there.
This cottage was a perfect size for my husband, 3 year old, and myself. The atmosphere of the location could not have been more relaxing. It was enjoyable to sit on the deck and listen to the babbling brook and our daughter loved the bridge. The neighbors (down the road) were very friendly when they helped us remove a tree that had fallen on the road one morning. The Arcadia area was somewhat remote, but close enough to get to everywhere we wanted to visit, including the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore. We did enjoy the little beach right in Arcadia, too. The only parts we were dissatisfied with were the amount of mouse traps/poison just sitting around on the floors (not great with a toddler around), the odor of the well water, lack of cell service (AT&T), and the lack of a vacuum. If you are used to being at a cottage/camp or in the woods these arenât deal breakers. We also couldnât figure out the lock box in the back, but Iâm sure it was just our user error. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again.
This is a lovely place. I could easily have stayed another week or two. Five minutes from the Bluffs course and only 10 from the south. The Bed was comfortable, the water hot and the surroundings peaceful. Slept with the Window open to hear the sound of the babbling brook out back. Whoever I am in the area, this will be my go to rental.
Cozy tiny cabin with the most enchanting atmosphere. We didn't want to leave the back deck that offered sunshine, greenery, and a personal babbling brook. We came up for a trip away from the kids and left with plans to bring them with us next time.
Good hiking courtesy of Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy properties very close by. The back deck over the burbling creek makes for lovely sleep in a comfortable bed.
When we first arrived at the property we were very happy. Nice quiet brook in the backyard, peaceful and secluded. Unfortunately the peace did not last long. First thing in the morning road work began and all we heard was trucks and beeps. We reached out to the property to see if we could move and they would not help. The noise went on every morning. Management just kept saying they were sorry and there was nothing they could do. NO change in location, no discount on stay, they offered nothing. Very disappointing as the main reason we booked this location was to get away from noise and people.
This was a clean and nicely furnished cottage just right for a couple. We really liked the loft design for the bedroom although it requires going downstairs if you get up during the night to go to the bathroom. The location isn't exactly lakeside as it's 2 miles from Lake Michigan. But it was a quick and easy drive to Arcadia beach. The lot is cool and shady with a trickling stream running through the back yard and a nice wooden deck on which to relax. Highly recommend it!
Highly recommended! VERY clean. We would return with out a doubt!
Highly recommended!! Beautiful location, we actually saw a momma deer and her very newborn baby outside of our window while having coffee. The property was clean and I mean clean. Like my Grandma worked there and tucked us in. Fresh clean. Grout clean, clean. The location was ideal for visiting all of the major spots, the Arcadia wildlife is in your backyard and Traverse City is about an hour away. Frankfort and the Sleeping Bear Dunes were even closer and we visited it all. We celebrated my husband's 51st birthday and our 25th anniversary the week we stayed and it was heaven. This property met and exceeded our expectations and we would come back in a heartbeat!
