From either of these great places, you can start your day with coffee on the deck rocking chairs, then take your dog for a 10 minute stroll to the Cheshire Village Shops and Cafes for another coffee, or for a 2 minute drive to lovely (pet friendly) downtown Black Mountain, with it's many interesting shops, antiques, and wonderful restaurants. You'll find the local people to be friendly and welcoming.

The cabin is only 1 mile from the grocery store, a complete Fitness Center, with swimming pool and racquet ball courts, and 10 minutes to scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, or 15 minutes to Asheville and Biltmore Estate. See Asheville's many art galleries, entertainment venues, great restaurants, and eclectic street performers.

Black MTN GETAWAY

We have stayed at various locations in western NC for 10 years running. Many were nice, but this cabin stands alone. Great location, fully equipped, convenient to shopping and restaurants and hiking. Looking forward to next year.

Private respite

We stayed while our Black Mountain home was closing. The surroundings - woods, mountains - were perfection. We just needed to relax and the cottage - extremely cozy with a full kitchen, leather furniture we melted in, comfortable beds, updated bathroom - satisfied our wants. I had to work remotely and never experienced an internet issue. Ingles and all shopping were minutes away, so although you feel isolated, activity is within reach.Also, our dog loved exploring the area. We had to extend our stay twice and Gerald was most agreeable.If we ever visit again, the cottage will be our first choice.

Perfect long weekend

We had such a wonderful time in this beautiful little house. We loved looking at the stars from the hot tub, playing games, eating breakfast out on the deck, and eating at many of the wonderful local restaurants (Ole Guacamole and Blue Ridge Biscuit Kitchen were amazing!) There are so many pretty parks and ways to enjoy nature as a family. We hope to return ASAP, highly highly recommend!

Simply Excellent

This was a perfect place for us to stay for a quick weekend in Black Mountain The house was so clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. Our hosts were responsive and we so appreciate how they welcomed our dogs as guests as well! We will definitely be back!

This has been one of my best VRBO experiences! The location was perfect to Black Mountain and convenient to so many trails, etc. A perfect little cabin in the woods. Will definitely be back for more stays....already looking at the calendar!

Floors dirty. And house dirty except for shower toilet Pillows old etc Sink in kitchen leaking and out onto the floor. Bucket under pipe catching water and over flowed. Which we cleaned up. Had soaked into wood cabinet and floor. We had not used the sink. Turned water valve off This was day 1. Called owner.. Owner aware of leak. Plumber could not come until Saturday. We left on day 2 . Better in real life

The photos do not serve this home justice! The space is really well laid out. The owner thought of everything: gate on the deck for dogs, grocery discount card, candy in the shelf where keys are kept. Communication with the the owners was easy and quick. Perfect Blend of Seclusion and Convenience!

I recently stayed at this charming cabin, and it was everything I hoped for. The photos don’t do it justice! One of the highlights was the outdoor space. We had neighbors close by, but it still felt very secluded. The hot tub was the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the nearby trails. I prefer having a dishwasher. Hot tub was nice but by the end of the week it had lost water below the jets. There was some dog hair on the sofa and dust under the twin beds. The fire pit was fun.

Great location!

The home was comfortable and just as described! The trees and vegetation helps it feel private even though there are houses on either side. The neighborhood was quiet even on the 4th of July. Quick access to I-40 and Asheville and great hikes and waterfalls within 15-20 minutes drive.
