Cute and Cozy

This was a very comfortable place to stay. It’s hard to find a pet friendly place with a king bed and this checked off all our needs. It was also convenient to downtown and I appreciated the hosts attention to details and easy communication. Cleanliness was impeccable!

Such a cute little place! We stayed there for our Minimoon and it was in a great location, close to everything! Would definitely stay there again! And very comfy bed!

Total misrepresentation

Posted Nov. 15, 2023 on HomeAway
Upon arrival we immediately noticed the accommodations looked nothing like the photos. The neighborhood up to the house was not very safe looking and the house across the street was very run down with what appeared junk cars in the yard.. When entering the house we noticed a stale musty odor. The Room was munch smaller than depicted and didn’t appear very clean. The toilet would not flush and the grout surrounding the tub was dirty. When going to the private deck which was much smaller than pictured we noticed the rug was torn and badly worn on one are. In order to get to the hot tub or pool you had to walk past the owners rooms and their deck on grass that you sank into if you missed the stepping stones. The flowing creek was not picturesque as described in was an overgrown bank and it was very close to the walkway to the pool and hot tub. You are separated from the owners by one locked door so really not much privacy.

Dear Dean, I normally do not respond to guest reviews, because I believe in guests giving their honest opinion. I also believe that host who constantly respond to only negative reviews tend to be exactly like how guest depict them and the situation. So let’s address this review. First and foremost Dean, you did not even stay at our property. Your wife and daughter were the ones who check in. They were at the property for 10 minutes in total. Which we can track from the smart lock. I could hear your wife yelling how she was upset at you on the phone for not booking a whole home. Which I am so sorry that you or her did not read the property description and thought you were getting a whole home in downtown Asheville, 3.5 miles away from the Biltmore, for less than $150 a night. You must of thought you got an amazing steal. As for my neighbors (who are artists) and the “junk cars” ( a 67 Ford Galaxie and beautiful) is their daily car and runs and have a beautiful home and garden. Which they would have been happy to show off had your wife asked. Instead of insulting them because it doesn’t fit to your standards of how someone should live. This street is made up of 6 families. No crime and we live right down the street from NC police. So safe to say it’s a safe neighborhood that has a French restaurant, coffee shop, and creekside tavern less than a mile from the home. Too bad they didn’t stay long enough to try them out. I will admit one thing: the toilet. Yes. While it does flush and it did that day they were here, sometimes you may have had to flush twice if they bothered to. We had a plumber come out and already fix that. We again could have gotten a plumber there during their stay but we were not given that opportunity. As for the rug and back porch…. The outside rug which is designed to look rustic and it’s an OUTSIDE rug. Also the porch can fit 4-6 people comfortably. We’ve had two couples get PROPOSED to on the guest back porch. That’s the highest compliment I could receive for someone to choose a place to ask their forever someone to be with them, none other than that back porch. While this review is just a nasty Karen/Ken thing to do and to be petty and pick apart every little thing just to seek some sort of validation from life, then so be it. I take knowing that 82 Five (5) star ⭐️ reviews from this platform and another well known platform that we are doing something right. We do pride ourselves on providing a clean rental and as much privacy we can. The attached door that separates us from the rest of the home is actually sealed off and sound proof, the hot tub is private and only guest have access to it during their stay. After each guest we thoroughly clean and disinfectant the unit and do a time stamped walk through video of the home to ensure cleanliness. We also deep clean once a month. I will be sure to re-grout my tub on the next deep clean and have your wife inspect it since she had ten minutes to throughly inspect the home. So I leave you with this Dean and company, Do yourself a favor and the favor of other hosts and read the property description and make sure that the rental you are choosing is the right one for you. I’d hate for other hosts to get ripped apart for something as petty as the person who wrote this.

Cute, but noisy

The good: Morgan is an EXCELLENT communicator. We were very clear on where we were going and how we were getting in when we headed to her home, and when we got there it was marked and lit and welcoming. It's decorated beautifully, and the creek is very peaceful. We had nearly every streaming service we could want, and Morgan is generous enough to leave coffee and creamer in the room for guest use. There were towels galore, and I even found a curling iron. The location is also very good- we were minutes from lots of good eats, downtown, and Biltmore. The not so good: I noticed a few things here and there that have been missed when cleaning. It's overall clean, just some details that haven't been touched in a minute. Also, the toilet became a constant bit between my partner and I because it doesn't flush well and takes FOREVER to refill. There was a plunger very nearby, and we needed it. The bed seemed like it might, very literally, be on its last legs. And finally, I want to really, really emphasize for people coming to VRBO looking for a whole home- THIS IS A ROOM THAT IS ATTACHED TO THEIR HOME AND SEPARATED BY AN INTERIOR DOOR. We had the idea that it shared the property, but it's straight up just the right side of the home, and you can clearly hear each other. The bad: Dogs. They have at least two dogs and they stay by the separating door when their family isn't home and just bark. This is annoying, and was a nightmare when I was trying to sleep off a migraine.
