West Asheville Bungalow - Close to Biltmore/LexAve
Thoughtfully updated, this charming bungalow offers a superb location in a quiet West Asheville neighborhood -- minutes from downtown and popular Haywood Road. Visit Biltmore Village (5.8 miles) and don't miss the Blue Ridge Parkway drive.
Nestled on just over a half-acre, this 3BR/2.5BA home offers plenty of outdoor space -- complete with a covered patio and huge yard with a firepit. Inside, find a full kitchen, two living areas, and a spacious two story layout with a lofted bedroom.
Well to start we almost completely drove past the home because it was so overgrown. The front of the home was barely visible, a rose bush was out of control with a long off shot going chest height into the driveway (yes to rubbed against our truck each time we pulled into or out of the driveway thorns and all), the side porch was home to a lot of wasp and muddabber nests, the grass didnât seem to have been mowed all summer. I wasnât too optimistic upon pulling in the driveway. Once inside, it was cute. The home looked pretty much like the pictures online. The beds were very comfortable with very comfortable and cozy pillows. The WiFi was great. Our daughter loved the upstairs room. The only fan we could find was the one upstairs. Lots of towels and wash cloths and provided toiletries like shampoo. Conditioner, and body wash. There were a few issues with the furniture, one couch had a small hole and another a stain. I took pictures so that we wouldnât get blamed for it. A drawer pull in the kitchen was half off. Paint scraped in the dining area from chair backsâŠit was clearly a rental and had seen better days. It was very close to restaurants, the Biltmore, and shopping. Quite a long drive to any parks for hiking and site seeing (45min-1hr). The neighborhood was nice and pretty quiet. A little disappointed with the lack of maintenance to the outside making it the outdoor areas pretty much unusable. Donât know that we would stay here again.
Inside of house was accurately reflected online. It was clean and welcoming. The outside landscaping/bushes desperately need some TLC - very overgrown.
Place was well stocked and had all the amenities listed. There could be a tad more attention given to the outdoors and a couple of broken items in the home. These things would not prevent us from staying here again.
The home was clean, had comfortable beds, plenty of room for family to spread out (2 living spaces plus upstairs area), and a nice fenced yard for dogs. Excellent stay!
Great property and exactly what was described - a lot of rental properties and photos and descriptions that do not match the actual report condition itself but this was not the case. Very clean and comfortable, very dog friendly which was nice for us. Will absolutely look to stay here again next time weâre in town
I stayed at this house with my husband and two kids (ages 7 and 11) and our dog for a family getaway to Asheville and to visit the Biltmore. The upstairs was great for the kids, though note that there is not a door at the bottom or top of the stairs. The fenced yard is on the smaller side, but great for letting the dog out. The house is close to great restaurants and a quick drive to Biltmore. I somehow got our checkout date wrong in my head and the property manager was incredibly kind about it. Overall great place for a visit to Asheville!
Overall our stay was great! Upstairs was a little warm but we were able to cool it down at night with fans and opening windows! Also the tv upstairs was missing a remote. The beds were very comfortable! We ran out of hot water quickly when everyone needed to get ready. The kitchen and gathering spaces were very roomy and we had all the utensils we needed to make several meals! The location was pretty good(not too far from all the things we were doing). The yard was a little small and the driveway narrow and steep but we made it work!
The house was very comfortable especially the beds. Kitchen well stocked including some spices. Since we only stayed one night, it was nice not to have to worry about TP and paper towels as there was plenty. Finding a place for 2 dogs was most impressive and the fenced yard worked well. We enjoyed our night.
We really enjoyed our stay in this Asheville bungalow. It was very convenient to all our activities. The host was thoughtful and provided extra amenities we enjoyed like the popcorn machine. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms have been recently updated. Would stay here again!
I specifically decided on this place for the popcorn machine ( my son and mother in law have popcorn party every night ) and the oatmeal bar. ( My daughter loves oatmeal!) The beds were amazing. Usually when you stay in an air b n b the beds have lumps or spots from previous people but these were so comfortable! The fire place was amazing! (It heats the house up quick!) Not to far from the locations we visited! Looks small from the outside but super big on the inside! Highly recommend! Will most definitely be back!
The house was just perfect for our family's Christmas get together. The house was clean and spacious with extremely comfortable beds, even in the upstairs kids area. The linens were high quality and the kitchen had everything we needed. The fenced in yard was great for the dogs. Close to Asheville center but in a quiet neighborhood.Would book again!
Spacious and clean home. We had plenty of space to spread out and several rooms where we could gather together to talk, play games and watch movies. The kitchen and home were stocked with everything we needed.
We wanted to be close to the River Arts district and downtown. It felt like we were close to everything Great place.
The property met our needs of a place to stay for 4 adults and 2 dogs with a fenced yard. However, the AC does not work properly. The unit was on, but no cool air flowed from the vents, so it was very warm the whole weekend. The house has fans and a window unit upstairs. The furniture was not very sturdy: a friend sat on one of the couches and the front corner buckled. Their bedframe was also cracked/broken when we arrived.
I messaged the host on Friday with a question and on Saturday to alert them of the issues we found and did not receive a reply about either. I received check out instructions but no mention of my previous messages, so I'm assuming it was an automatic one.
The house is cute and met our basic needs, but if you run hot like I do, I would not recommend staying here.
The house worked well for our family. The beds and other furniture was comfortable. There were board games for kids, a giant Jenga set and other games to play which was a nice touch. The back yard was peaceful too.
