Unique Lodge with Industrial Designed Interior

Ashford Village: Birch Hill House is situated a short stroll to the picturesque village of Ashford. Located approx 30 miles south of Dublin city and airport, it is ideally located for visitors to this wonderful part of Ireland. County Wicklow is known as 'The Garden County ' and there are many private gardens and stately homes which open to the public close by. Just a short stroll minutes from the house however, is Mount Usher gardens, which was voted the “Best garden to visit in Ireland” by BBC Gardeners World The shopping courtyard features a wonderful restaurant and there are myriad specialty shops with the best of Irish food, furniture and crafts on offer. Also in the village you can enjoy a drink of Guinness in front of a log fire, while working up a hunger to enjoy a tasty meal in one of the two fine restaurants.

My husband, our two college age daughters and my 83 year old father-in-law stayed at this property for 7 nights. We came from the US to host Thanksgiving for my family. My 93 year old mother travelled to us for many years to enjoy the Thanksgiving celebration. As she can no longer travel we wanted to bring the holiday to her. This property was a perfect venue. Lots of space for entertaining, a great kitchen with double oven, all of the kitchen tools needed and enough place settings, glassware etc for 13 people for dinner. In addition, there was a large bathroom on the ground floor which was very helpful for guests with mobility issues. Una and Pete could not have been nicer and more helpful. They had decorated the entryway and the window behind the dining table with pumpkins which was a lovely festive touch for Thanksgiving. Pete dropped off a bottle of red wine on Thanksgiving evening. They were extremely accommodating regarding the number of cars our guests needed to park. Honestly I could not have asked for better hosts - simply wonderful.We really enjoyed the cozy log burner in the open plan living space and though the weather was not that cooperative we did get to enjoy the outdoor firepit on a couple of occasions. The bedrooms were super comfy and cozy with lots of space. The entire place was spotless. Bedding and towels were high quality. We will definitely return.

Kitchen set up worked great for large group around the large kitchen table. The only drawback was that there was no fireguard around the kitchen stove. The kitchen stove provided a homely and welcoming feature but without a guard we had to be very careful with the children

Our family stayed for 8 days and enjoyed every moment. Amazing accommodations and Pete and Una were super helpful. We had a fire every night while catching up with one another. Perfect Eastern Ireland locatuon

We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this property! We were a group of friends and family getting together to visit and explore this part of Ireland. Not only was a space perfect for our group with its multiple spaces to gather our large group to catch up, but the area has gorgeous scenery and activities for all ages. It benefits from its closeness to Dublin, of course, but there are so much to see within a couple minutes drive! Hope to visit again soon!

An absolute must stay

We had the best time staying here, highly highly recommend to anyone looking for a trip to ireland or staycation. The property was fabulous, impeccably clean and fully kitted out with everything you might need. They had even though as far ahead as to have a stair gate available to put in the stairs for guests with small children like ourselves. They also have an outdoor fire pit which was perfect for making s’moresThe property is in a fabulous location with lots of activities for days out 20 minutes drive away.And the hosts were amazing, so welcoming and super responsive to all our questions. The perfect location for a couples get away, girly trip and family vacation. I can’t wait to return!

An excellent property. The photos matched the reality. Very comfortable and spacious for our group of 8. Lovely outdoor seating area. Easy parking. Great access to local grocery, Mount Usher Gardens, DART station only 20 minutes away at Greystones with 3 all day parking. Could not be happier with our stay. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the house was great to hang out in and cook in. We were families with kids and they loved the place so much we had to come home every evening for a bbq and marshmallows by the fire. Also near Glendalough and Clara Lara which they loved. Great house and amazing hostess!

We had a great time staying here and the hostess, Una, was incredibly friendly and helpful. We made day trips all around the Wicklow area from this convenient spot and with a house full of kids this was a perfect spot to enjoy the evenings by the fireplace. Una ensured the bed setup was properly arranged for us prior to arriving, oriented us well to the amenities, made recommendations for local dining and activities, and helped us get a few things back that we accidentally left after checkout. I would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Ashford or the surrounding Wicklow area.

Wundervoller Aufenthalt oder Industrial meets Wood

Platz fĂŒr uns 11, wo findet man das schon? Wir waren fĂŒr eine Woche im 3-Generationen-Urlaub dort. Man fĂŒhlt sich sofort zuhause. 4 Schlafzimmer, zwei davon familientauglich, alle mit eigenem Badezimmer. Jedes Zimmer liebevoll gestaltet, urig und gemĂŒtlich. Wohn- , Koch- Essbereich großzĂŒgig gestaltet und lĂ€dt zu gemeinsamer Zeit ein. Viele schöne Orte zum Entdecken und Bewundern in der NĂ€he und gut zu erreichen. Ashford und das nahe Wicklow bieten alles, was man an Versorgung braucht. Und wer die Iren noch noch erlebt hat, wird feststellen, dass sie ein besonders herzliches und familienfreundliches Volk sind. Una die Vermieterin ist jederzeit zu erreichen und hilft, wo immer sie kann. Liebe Una wir hatten eine unvergesslich schöne Zeit, uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und hab vielen Dank fĂŒr alles, vielleicht sehen wir uns noch einmal wieder!

A cozy architectural GEM in Ireland!
