VILLA ELENI - Breathtaking views of most gorgeous beach of Athens
Villa Eleni is situated at the top of a hill, 400 meters (0.24 miles) from the Legrena beach. Legrena is the first village from the world-famous ancient Temple of Poseidon, the God of the Sea, at Sounio. Legrena is an ideal base from where you can explore the city of Athens, the Parthenon, the islands via Ferryboat from the ports of Lavrio or Rafina or via a private boat that you can rent from the nearby Olympic Marina. The surroundings of the property are olive groves, and a few other beautiful summer houses. Located at a no-outlet street, nothing interrupts this house's tranquility, serenity and privacy. The property consists of: 1. The main house, 350 sq. m, or 3,770 sq. feet 2. 4,125 sq. m or 44,401 sq. feet of land with palms, fruit trees, decorative plants 3. Covered parking for 3 cars The main house consists of 3 floors. The main entrance is at the middle floor. There is also a second entrance at the first floor which gives the lower house an absolute privacy.
Even though the temperatures were very high, our holidays were great and the Villa was fabulous, I recommend it!
Nothing special to change or improve on the Villa itself.
The owner and the persons in charge of the Villa were very kind.
We booked Villa Eleni as a base to invite family and friends from the UK and we were not disappointed. The villa had everything we needed (and more).
Internally the space works excellently for families / friends with everyone having space and privacy yet ample room to get together. Externally the pool was a huge hit. Minor queries we had were responded to and resolved very quickly. We arranged for housekeeping between our guests and Maria did an amazing job and the pool and grounds were maintained beautifully. We loved the local area - great restaurants/coffee shop and bakers in the village and in Lavrio. We rotated between sandy and snorkelling beaches which kept everyone happy. An easy drive to Ellininka and metro to Athens made for a stress free visit. Honestly, we cannot rate Villa Eleni highly enough. We had the most wonderful, relaxing 5 weeks. Thank you
Fabulous villa in a great location for a family holiday
We visited in late May 2024 for a family holiday (mum, dad, 17, 14 and 9 year old children); and were delighted by the large, light and spacious villa with a fabulously large deep pool which is circa 3 minutes drive from a large sandy, clean beach. There are two small shops and several very nice seafood restaurants in the local village less than 3 minutes drive away (or 15-minutes walk), and we were less than an hour away from Athens and 20 minutes from Lavrio, with plenty of holiday towns in between. Eleni and family were on hand to answer any questions and help out whenever required. In short this is a fantastic location for a family holiday and we would love to return one way in the future.
5 of us stayed in property
Very clean and fully equipped
Beautiful views lovely pool
Beach lovely. Not too far from Athens to visit
Lovely tavernas near by
Would go back
Stunning villa on a grand scale in a brilliant location with panoramic sea view. Well equipped and and spotlessly clean too. Our hosts made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable despite the massive thunderstorms and gales! Great location with plenty of very good restaurants to choose from. Poseidon's Temple is well worth a visit with its spectacular location. Thanks to Eleni and her lovely family.
We had a truly memorable stay at Villa Eleni. Everything you need is here and it was spotless. Communication with Eleni is excellent which is reassuring too. The location is wonderful; there are several restaurants and a bakery and mini market accessible on foot so you donât need to drive everywhere. The temple of Poseidon is a must see and only 10-minutesâ drive away. The climb up the mountains behind the villa is also a good thing to do if youâve older children.
The villa is so luxurious and the pool is the icing on the cake. We all slept very well and felt very relaxed and it was a blessing to spend time together, watch movies and read in such a quiet and peaceful spot.
Thank you to Eleni, Theo and Maria and families. We really hope to visit again!
This villa is very comfortable and very private. The pool is impressively large and all amenities are generous. The neighbourhood was very quiet in early September so that small coves and nearby beaches easy to drive to and park. We ate out every night in many local Tavernas and enjoyed a trip to Lavrio and the temple of Poseidon and also an afternoon trip to Athens. We would be happy to return.
This is a fantastic villa, set up like a family home rather than a rental property. Lots of room for two families, aircon in all the right rooms, great kitchen and the best swimming pool we've ever had at a villa. Most of it is about 3m deep so great for diving. Views from the 2 balconies are better than you see in the photos, they are also shaded so you can use them all day. At night the clear skies make for great stargazing from the top floor.
Communications with Eleni prior to arrival were great and her wonderful parents Zoi and Spyros were there to meet us, show us around the house and even gave us a tour of Legrena.
The town has about a half dozen taverna's that serve really good local food at fantastic prices. You can walk to town on a quiet back road in just over 10 minutes. Not many foreign tourists around Legrena so it feels a lot different to most holiday spots in a way that we thought much better. Drop into George in the bakery beside restaurant Theodore and Helens and get him to convince you to buy some of their super pastries with feta and sun-dried tomatoes. He might even treat you to some of his local Greek hooch which will leave a spring in your step. Nearby towns of Annavisos and Lavrion have lots of restaurants and supermarkets, only about 15 min drive each.
Across the main road from the villa there are a couple of beaches with bars serving drinks and snacks. Try Kape beach bar, they do nice pizzas for lunch and it was our favourite beach down a few steps.
A few minutes up the road is Poseidon's temple, well worth a look. There is a really nice looking hotel there, Cape Sounion I think, which we will definitely visit when we go back to this villa next year.
Last thing: the weather was perfect, 30-35 Deg daytime and high 20's in the evening but with a constant breeze so we rarely felt too hot unless you choose to go out in the mid-day sun.
This villa really is a luxury home from home.
It really is the most beautiful villa we have ever stayed in.
Location wise you could not ask for s better view. Every balcony looks out towards the sea, and the small islands in the distance.
The pool is by far the largest we have ever had in a villa, and is deep enough for diving.
The kitchen has every bit of equipment you can dream of - from an ice making fridge, to a milkshake mixer!
Locally, there are a couple of lovely bakeries and some fantastic tavernas.
Posiedens temple is only 5 minutes away, and the sunset from there is just stunning!
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in luxury surroundings, them this is the place for you.
I honestly canât say enough good things about this villa - it is just perfect!!!
We stayed end of June 2018 as a family of 4. Communication with Eleni was easy and she provided information about the area and easy directions from the airport. Spyros and Zoi met us at villa Eleni on our arrival and showed us around which included a trip to the local village and beach which was a lovely touch, and they provided a large bowl of fresh fruit, wine, and biscuits. The villa is very well equipped with air con throughout and excellent WiFi. It is very spacious in a nice quiet location, very secure with private gates on entry , stunning ocean views and a very impressive rather deep pool - We spent most of our time here. The area is very quiet and a car is a must. Thereâs a few taverns in the village , we ate at one but preferred to drive into Lavrios which is just under 20 minutes away . There you will find many restaurants catering for different tastes. Again, extremely quiet during the week but came alive at weekends with the locals.
We were sad to leave and enjoyed the peace and fantastic weather.
This is a great place away from the "touristy areas". The house was beautiful with all the amenities you could want (Sauna shower, bathroom for each room, plenty of beds, fully stocked kitchen with plates, silverware, pots, pans, coffee pot, blender, tea kettle, and anything else you could think of) to keep you relaxed and enjoying yourself.
The owners, Zoey and Spayros, were outstanding hosts! The provided any information you could want/need to help you enjoy. They are very friendly and open. They were key in providing information about the area, attractions, towns and even culture!
This place is only about 45 minutes from the Athens Int'l Airport or 1 hour from Athens proper (tourist attractions). It is convenient enough to drive this short distance for a day trip and be back home in the quiet serenity of the Aegean Sea. The grounds are well taken care of the house is clean and comfortable and I highly recommend this place. From start to finish Eleni was very helpful with booking and understanding and then her parents greet you at the house and provide all the information you need. Just a GREAT way to get away with the family and/or friends!
Thanks Eleni, Zoey and Spayros!
Stayed at Villa Eleni with my wife + 2 young daughters. Read on for detail if you wish, but my review does not include even minor recommendations. This place is incredible.
Location = 5 stars!
10 min. drive from the Temple of Poseidon at Sounio. 10-15 min. walk from main village (main square, 2 bakeries, 4-5 restaurants, an espresso bar, butcher, kids' playground, church, etc). Bonus - only a 20-30 min. walk (or a 1.5 min. drive) from either of 2 nearby beaches (our favourite was Xapaka/Haraka). Other bonus - no stray dogs!
House + layout = 5 stars!
This house could easily be in a magazine. Huge, well-equipped kitchen, all appliances/clothes washing machine are German (Miele). House is very roomy, well-designed open layout, multiple large patios with excellent views for dining/sitting/relaxing. Thick marble flooring + very well constructed bedrooms means footsteps won't wake sleeping children, etc. Even the floor drains are marble! Everything in this house is meticulously thought-out and well-designed - including the massive pool and backyard landscaping.
Connectivity + entertainment = 5 stars!
Internet connection is strong & fast. Dozens of Greek and international satellite channels available. Lots of electrical outlets for charging devices. Huge microfibre couches for napping/tv watching/reading/entertaining/etc.
Night time safety = 5 stars!
First of all, we never felt unsafe for one second walking around at night or in to the village. Everybody is friendly, no stray dogs were spotted (a rarity in Greece these days), and it's so peaceful at night, you can literally hear the ferry boats' engines churning as they pass by your patios. But any village that is primarily full during summer weekends is bound to have some bad things happen now and again. As mentioned above, everything has been thought out extremely well. Huge automatic gate provides a secured entrance to the property, which is surrounded by a very solid wall/fence combo. Windows seem to be double-thickness, and are bolstered by metal shutters that raise and lower with the turn of a switch. The front door is basically a bank vault door, you can even see who's knocking with a video screen right beside the door handle!
The owners = 10 stars!
Emails/phone call are answered promptly, everyone is super friendly and made sure to let us know they were available for questions any time. They were so nice to my family, I wanted to invite them to have dinner with us - at their own house!
