When I arrived at Extended Stay America Austin Metro, I was immediately put in a dangerous situation. An employee’s dog jumped on me the moment I stepped onto the property. I am deathly afraid of dogs, and this was terrifying. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility for their employee’s animal attacking a guest, the staff told me to leave the hotel. At that moment, I was told I would receive a refund since I was being removed through no fault of my own. That was a lie. They refused to return my money and hid behind their “no refund” policy, even though the entire incident was caused by them. This is a property that allows employees’ dogs to jump on guests, then kicks the guest out, and finally keeps your money like they’re reaching right into your pocket. Completely unprofessional, unsafe, and unethical. If you value your safety, your sanity, and your wallet, stay far away from this place. There are plenty of other hotels in Austin that don’t treat paying guests like disposable nuisances.
