THE HOME



The spacious main floor of this open-layout home is perfectly suited for entertaining. Plenty of natural light fills the shared living space, gourmet kitchen, and dining area. Curl up with a good book on the comfortable couches or enjoy your favorite film on the flat screen TV. Home chefs will enjoy whipping up a memorable meal in the gourmet kitchen - which has plenty of additional seating for spectators and sous-chefs! A formal dining area for eight is just steps away when you're ready to serve. The main floor also features an eye-catching guest bathroom with a walk-in shower and a small sitting room (great for families or business travelers seeking additional privacy).



Upstairs, you can take in an eclectic art collection inspired by the legendary Lone Star State. Bedroom One is fitted with a Queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedroom Two is fitted with an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and (1) King bed. Bedroom Three houses a single Full bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower/tub combo. A loft / second full living area (Bedroom Four) connects bedrooms 1-3 and is fitted with a flat screen TV and a comfortable, high-end sofa bed that sleeps two.



Head back to the main floor and down a second set of stairs for the remaining two guest bedrooms. Bedroom Five is fitted with (2) Queen beds and a small sitting area with a gorgeous jewel-toned chaise lounge. Bedroom Six is also fitted with (2) Queen beds. 



Outside in the guest house, Bedroom Seven is fitted with a King bed and ensuite bathroom. Another living room provides a sofa bed that sleeps two additional guests. The guest house also features a small second kitchen.

THINGS TO NOTE



The home is in a quiet residential neighborhood and the below rules are strictly enforced. Carefully consider these prior to booking:



1) While this home accommodates up to 20 guests, only the number of guests listed on your reservation will be permitted at the property. When booking on Airbnb, the system initially allows you to book for up to 16 guests. After booking, you MUST click “edit reservation”, increase the group size to the correct number of guests, and pay the additional guest fee of $75 per person per night for your additional guests (up to 20 total guests) to confirm your booking.



2) This property is best suited for families, family reunions, business travelers, responsible bachelor/bachelorette groups, and those looking to getaway for some R&R. Disruptive party groups are not permitted.



3) Outdoor amenities can be utilized from 7AM to 10 PM (in accordance with the city's noise ordinance).



4) The pool can be heated to 85 degrees for an additional fee of $175/day plus tax.

While the home has several upgrades and renovations, there are key safety concerns that were not disclosed by the owners. The basement, which is minimally shown in the listing, includes multiple walk-out sliding doors that lead directly to a poorly fenced, uncovered pool. When we arrived, one of these slider doors was not only unlocked but fully open, creating both a security and mosquito issue. The windows in the basement are in poor condition, with several broken or non-functioning latches, making the space unsuitable for young children.Additionally, a large tree obstructs access to the lower driveway, preventing SUVs from reaching the flat parking area. This detail was only updated on the guest page after we raised the concern. We also found numerous wasp nests around the property, beer and food in the fridge and a mold-filled washing machine that required extensive cleaning before use.I reached out to the owners, and while they responded promptly by sending someone over, the individual was limited in what he could address. Several issues require permanent resolution to make the property truly suitable for families. The listing should accurately reflect the large sliding doors and the safety concerns they pose, particularly for young children. The windows and fence need proper repair, the overhanging tree and wasp nests should be removed, and the cleaning crew replaced, the mold and cleanliness were unacceptable.

40th Birthday

The house is actually bigger that what the pictures show, and I feel like that never happens with an online listing. The style and decor throughout the house feels like a super swanky, boutique hotel. We comfortably slept 16 friends and family members. The main floor living room/kitchen was the perfect hang space at the end of a night out. The only drawback is there's only 1 bathroom on the main floor that is supposed to service the 8 people that sleep in the basement. All the upstairs rooms have their own bathrooms. We ended up sharing showers which was fine, but an additional bathroom in the basement would've been the best fix. The pool area is fantastic, but the water was pretty icy. I'm sure the trees in the back are clutch during the hot summer to block out some of the sun, but in April, the mix of little sun and icy pool kept us from fully enjoying. The location worked out well for us. You can walk to a few bars, restaurants and liquor stores. We ended up catching Ubers everywhere else. This house (like many VRBO/AirB&B) charges the typical high priced cleaning fee, but then also demands you to wash towels, do dishes, take out the trash, etc. Overall, I'd 100% book this place again. It was perfect home base to celebrate and take in Austin.

Comfortable stay!

This Vrbo was perfect for a group of 12. Very beautiful setup and the living room/kitchen area was even more spacious in person. Host was quick to respond to any questions. The patio area is perfect to sit and soak up the sunshine. Bathrooms were all clean and well-stocked with towels and other provided amenities. House is also only a 15-min or less drive to other popular places in the city, and in walking distance to some coffee and food spots. The group enjoyed their stay.

We were a group of 9 High School Seniors and 4 moms staying at the house for the second ACL Weekend. The house was great and when we asked about more blankets, towels and a colander, the property manager had them delivered to us. We used the kitchen a little bit with easy food preparation and breakfast.

Perfect for a large family

We rented this house so we could gather with family to celebrate my MIL's 80th birthday. It was absolutely perfect for all of us. We especially loved the open kitchen/family room and the pool and patio. Would highly recommend this property for any large group.

Beautiful house and a great location, needs a few things fixed

The house is a historic house in a great location near downtown Austin. Really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean however, there are a few small things that need to be fixed. The microwave makes it really loud noise that sounds like it needs to be fixed. One of the guest said that the dishwasher leaked water. There’s an area on the main floor where the wood is breaking through. The house is extremely noisy, Poor sound insulation. The bedroom where I slept could use a dresser or somewhere to put my clothes and personal items. saying that, overall, I would stay here again. Hopefully they will upgrade the house by taking care of some of therse small issues.

Overall, really enjoyed this property. Perfect for large families or groups. Only negative was traffic noise as it backs up to a fairly busy thoroughfare. Good proximity to both UT and S. Congress shopping - easy to get around w/ Uber/Lift. Interiors are very nicely appointed.

Gorgeous house and is close to all the action. The only downside is the rooms on the bottom floor don’t have a bathroom; you have to go to first floor. The house is newly remodeled, beds are comfortable and it’s overall a great place!

Best Weekend Ever!!!

Truly can't explain how wonderful this weekend away in Austin was, and this rental was one of the best parts! The home was absolutely gorgeous and in such a safe part of town. The beds were comfy which is always a plus and there was plenty of room and space for the 10 of us who stayed there. Not to mention the brand-new pool they had put in this year was clutch because it was over 100 degrees every day. When we did run into any issues or problems with the property, the property manager was very responsive which was greatly appreciated. There were a few minor issues but nothing that was enough to take away from the experience!! Overall 20/10 stay and would love to come back and stay again. Book this place, you won't regret it!
