Really great hotel, staff were brilliant and on the doorstep of China town. Live music every day and great cocktails. The Thai massage was just what we needed after a long flight. The room was amazing and the big bath was perfect after a day of exploring Bangkok

From the outside it may not look like much, with the open-air bar fronting the street, but walk past that & you find a very quiet & dignified lobby & reception area. This place has a lot of character, & it no doubt had an interesting previous life before becoming a hotel. Well situated in Chinatown. Check-in: quick & easy. We arrived mid-morning, so rooms not ready. They secured our luggage, then we explored the Chinatown area. Rooms have a certain charm. Very different in many ways from a typical hotel. The door of each was flanked by two chairs with stools. The rooms all face a central atrium that flows from the 2nd floor to the top, 6th floor. Our suites were on the 2nd floor. They were spacious, decorated with Chinese-influenced pieces. A sitting area, a king sized bed, & a large bathroom area that included separate facilities for tub, toilet and shower. NOTE: there is no external window in room, so no natural light in the rooms. There was a mosquito issue in one of our suites at night. That same room had no a/c on final night, nor did much of the hotel. Other room had too much a/c & had to constantly adjust it down. Breakfast buffet had lots on offer. Bar was hopping, with live music, nightly. Noise did not flow through to rooms, though. Staff attentive and friendly, concierge even took my husband to a barber across the street upon request.

We were completely blown away by the hotel. From the moment we arrived, right through to our day of departure. We only wish we could stay longer. The room (205) was nothing short of being spectacular, very spacious and spotless clean. Loved the decoration and was very quiet. The toiletries were luxurious. Front of house were fantastic and made us feel very special, helping us with all our needs and concerns. Can’t fault our stay at all and would love to come back again.

Loved the hotel, it was very stylish, the breakfast was great and there was something for everybody and the staff were so kind - they even remembered that we liked lime with our papaya and just bought it out for us without even having to ask!! The only negative we would have is whilst the bedroom is stunning and the bed is certainly a statement bed, getting into and out of it is a bit of a pfaff as due to all the rails etc you can only get in from the bottom and have to climb in!!

Spacious, stylish room which was immaculately clean and with large, thick towels. The windows take light from the atrium and so there’s no natural light in the room which makes it a bit dark and means there’s no view, but if the room is just a base and you’ll be out all day, it’s an ideal location. Minor point, but as a country with fantastic coffee, sachets of instant Nescafé in the room were a disappointment! Despite it being very busy outside, the hotel is very peaceful, it also has a great spa which is competitively priced. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. They will also offer advice and guidance around the best way to get around the city and/or help you arrange a Grab or tuk tuk.

This hotel is right in the centre of Chinatown, a great location for the hustle and bustle and the street food. Close the train station but also really easy to get taxi or tuktuk from. The hotel itself was great. Chinese themed, great decor, clean and spacious. The rooms were a great size with separate bedroom, bathroom and living room areas. The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite. We couldn't have asked for anything more from them. Breakfast was decent with a good selection of food. With the bar which is right at the front of the hotel, it gets busy with passers by coming for a drink, that meant as residents there wasn't always a good space for us to sit. The bar was also expensive when compared to others, however I'd expect that in a hotel of this type. Would use again 👍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely unforgettable stay – true Bangkok hospitality at its finest I had the most wonderful stay at Shanghai Mansion Bangkok, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. Paula, Richard, and another lovely team member whose name I believe begins with a “P” went above and beyond to make me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their warmth, attentiveness, and kindness made this stay feel incredibly special. I was unexpectedly upgraded to a beautiful, spacious suite that felt far larger and more luxurious than what I had booked — such a generous and thoughtful surprise. To make it even more magical, I arrived to find “Happy Birthday” beautifully arranged on the bed, a towel cake tower, and cupcakes waiting for me. It was such a touching gesture and made my birthday feel truly celebrated. Every interaction with the staff was a pleasure — nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and the level of care and attention to detail was outstanding throughout my stay. The atmosphere, service, and genuine hospitality here are exactly what make travel experiences unforgettable. Thank you to the entire Shanghai Mansion team for creating such a memorable experience.
