Sweet Cottage One Quarter Mile From The Entrance To Acadia National Park.
This one level cottage is comfortable for two couples or a family of four. Near both the beach at Hulls Cove and the Acadia National Park Visitor Center, it is also just a 10 minute drive to Bar Harbor, and one block from the free bus line that runs all over Mount Desert Island. The two bedrooms sleep a total of four in one queen sized bed and two twins. The convenience of the fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room / dining room assure a relaxing vacation. The yard, picnic table and gas grill allow you to continue your outdoor adventure. We have recently converted the attached garage into a shady indoor/outdoor space for hot or rainy days.
This cottage was perfect for our family of 3 (all adults) who chose this stay to explore Acadia and enjoy the town of Bar Harbor. The location was very close to Acadia's main visitor center, and we explored the park every day but one. Very close to Bar Harbor shops and restaurants (10 minute drive). Walking distance to two good restaurants and a local coffee shop.
The cottage itself was clean, and the surroundings quiet. The pictures and descriptions on VRBO were accurate. Nothing unexpected. The host Peter was great to communicate with, and he offered a lot of useful suggestions. Thank you!
The house was clean, itâs in a nice area, and there were plenty of board games for us to play as a family in between outings.
Peter was an exceptional host. He stopped by to deliver some paper goods and gave us stellar recommendations for swimming and hiking. Highly recommend.
We loved staying here. Very close to Acadia Natl Park entrance, minutes from Bar Harbor shops and restaurants, as well as walking distance from a decent restaurant. Perfect for a family with older kids. Hope to stay here again soon! Highly recommend.
This was a quaint, older, but well maintained home in a fantastic location. We were just minutes from the Acadia National Park Visitor Center where you can park and catch the free Island Explorer bus access the entire island. A few minutes further down the road and we were in Bar Harbor. The lot is small, but had beautiful landscaping, and ours a corner lot on a very quiet street.
Check in and check out was a breeze. Communication with Peter was great!
We found everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and laundry.
Thank you for a great week!
We loved our stay here! The cottage is quaint, adorable, and perfect for a family of four. Itâs clean and in a great location. We were in close proximity to fantastic trails, the town of Bar Harbor, the cove, and two great swimming spots (Lakewood Pond is less than five minutes away and echo lake is about 20 min). Thereâs a general store a couple minutes walk away (that has an unexpectedly large spread of breakfast and lunch food!) as well as a nice restaurant on the ocean (great for apps and drinksâwe werenât so impressed with the dinners). Peter is a wonderful hostâeasy to get in touch and communicate with. We will certainly be back!
This lovely cabin has all the necessities for a cozy week in Bar Harbor. The place was clean, with thoughtful touches throughout, from extra paper goods and a vaccuum cleaner to a guidebook and tourist maps of the area. We also picked up some nice tips from the guest book.
It's quite close to the main entrance to Acadia, a stone's throw from a nice little beach, and about a ten minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor on a quiet street.
The host was very responsive and kept in good contact with us. My parents and my kiddo and I had a very pleasant time and slept well on the comfy beds. The garden out front was lovely and we enjoyed playing out in the side yard and grilling a few nights.
We chose this location because of the proximity to the park (literally down the road) and the fact that it was not in the busy part of Bar Harbor. The cottage was ready early for us and was spotless. It's an adorable little place and very comfortable. We like the outdoor seating and the woods behind us. When we got there, there were visiting chickens in the yard and a deer passing through. The owner is proactive in his communication and is close by should you need anything. There a several dining options within walking distance and Hull's Cove beach is at the end of the street. Very quiet and peaceful. So glad we found this cottage and would gladly return again!
Perfect cottage close to Acadia. Well equipped with everything you need. Walking distance to Hullâs Cove, The Chart Room restaurant, a pizza place and a cute general store. Will definitely come back to this cottage!
First up what a great location! 3 minutes from the park entrance, away from the bar harbor crowds yet close to a couple restaurants you can walk to.
The house had everything we need and comfy furniture to relax in after days hiking. Hope to be back!
We stayed here for 2 weeks in August with our 10 & 7 year old. Made a perfect home base for exploring all Mt. Desert Island has to offer. Away from the bustle of Bar Harbor but only a 10 minute drive to town. We were able to ride our bikes to the Hulls Cove entrance to Acadia multiple times to enjoy the carriage roads and were still less than 30 minutes to the "quite side" of the island. House is modest, but clean and has everything you need including new washer and dryer.
We came to Maine to experience Acadia and enjoy the outdoors.
The property was exactly as listed and had everything we needed. We were steps away from water views at Hullâs Cove, steps away from restaurants, steps away from conveniences âgas, post office, and a general store, and to us most important of all, we were steps away from a Main entrance to Acadia National Park.
Peter, the host, was very easy to communicate with and had lots of good tips and information.
We thouroughly enjoyed our Maine experience and would absolutely stay at the cottage on Dewey on our next visit.
This was a great spot for our family. We spent most of our time hiking and exploring the area and this was a great location only a short drive into Bar Harbor and many great hiking spots. Nice little beach to walk to, for beachcombing and letting our little one explore. House is basic, but was all we needed. Easy check-in and check-out process.
We've rented a lot of places over the years and this may be the best equipped one ever! I mean they even had a cheese grater!
The cottage was spotless, comfortable beds and LR furniture. There was plenty of room to spread out and space to put stuff for our weeklong stay. Nice outside picnic table and little screen room also. So close to everything - we could walk to a great restaurant and beach comb, only a mile from Acadia lark entrance and about 3 miles to downtown Bar Harbor. We had a little glitch during our stay and the owners were super accommodating and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again. Perfect getaway for a couple or small family!
Our familyâs first, but certainly not last, visit to Maine. We loved everything about Acadia and Bar Harbor, and the cottage was the perfect home away from home. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and quiet sleeping. We got to meet Pete and Margaret while we were in town. They were wonderful hosts who even lent us heavy coats to wear stargazing one night. Thanks for your kindness! We hope to return.
The home is charming, comfortable and well outfitted, in a sweet, quiet location that is less than 5 minutes' walk to a pretty beach for watching the sunrise, about 10 minutes' bike ride (uphill) to the carriage roads and about 10 minutes' drive into Bar Harbor. For us, it was perfect. The covered front porch is a delightful spot to sit with coffee in the morning, and the living and dining room are inviting and nicely furnished. The kitchen has everything, the laundry room has very new, good quality machines, and the linens and towels were all crisp and clean. The only disappointment, and it was minor, is that the wifi is not reliable. All told, this home helped make our Acadia trip very pleasant.
This property is very clean, neighborhood fair but excellent location for Acadia and downtown bar harbor, Just minutes away. I recommend the chart room within walking distance and a water view. Definitely in need of wine glasses as only one is available ;)
The house is in the perfect location. close to Park entrance and not far from Bar Harbor but away from the crowds. House is basic but everything you need.
Had a great week in Acadia. The house was really clean, and we had everything we needed. Great location, and quiet. Communication with Peter was easy and quick. We all really enjoyed the property, and even took advantage of the BBQ. Thanks!
Great location, easy access to downtown Bar Harbor and able to walk to Hulls Cove and 2 restaurants, 1 nice on the water and 1 pizza and subs. Entrance to Acadia is right around the corner.
Kitchen was lightly stocked, so you may need to bring / ask for a few ancillary items.
Great location that made it easy to access all parts of the island. Peter brought us a brand new crock pot when we inquired about one. He was very responsive to our questions and gave great suggestions. We stayed at this location with our 18 and 19 year old children. Only suggestion might be some card games for rainy days and extra mirrors in bedrooms since this is a one bathroom home.
The Hulls Cove cottage is a perfect location to Acadia NP, Cadillac Mtn, Jordan Pond and the Park Loop Road. You can easily access Southwest Harbor & Northeast Harbor via Crooked St and all the trails in that area as well! Itâs a 2 minute walk to the end of the road where you can dine at the Chart Room - we highly recommend their outdoor deck for dining - or can grab pizza or ice cream at Peppers. The general store/Shell station as well as a local wine & cheese shop is also within a 4 minute walk of the cottage.
The kitchen is fully equipped, although we only ate breakfast at the cottage before heading out for the day. The convenience of a washer and dryer was huge for us! Overall it was great accommodation for just 2 of us.
