I booked an "Elegance Room" through Expedia on June 28, 2024 for a 1-night visit prior to leaving on a cruise scheduled for April 26, 2025 - almost a YEAR prior to the date we would arrive. I have stayed in an Elegance Room at the Hotel Colon/Lamaro in the past and it was a lovely room as depicted on the hotel's website. When we arrived we were sent to room 102. We were stunned by the room. It was ground level, tiny and the view was of a very large air duct covering the whole window. Certainly NOT the room we were expecting and had paid for a year prior. Both my husband and I went to the registration desk and asked for an appropriate room and we were told they were full and we would have to settle for the room they gave us. I was expecting since we booked through Expedia we would get the room we paid for. I am hoping Expedia will contact the hotel to address this to be certain it doesn’t happen again in the future. Beware when booking this hotel.

View of the Cathedral was amazing! The restaurant was excellent! I was truly impressed with how great the food was. Staff was very helpful. Super easy to grab a cab at the corner. Surrounded by beautiful shops. Great outdoor bar and seating.

I asked for a room with a better view and they didn't even try to accommodate me. I had a view of trash cans and the side of a building. The tv didnt work either. The bed was two twins pushed together so it would spread apart. I wasnt impressed. I did appreciate the small balcony and the size of the shower.
