Just back from the most amazing 2 weeks in Barbados staying the first week on the East coast at SeaRenity Abode which was truly amazing. The sunrises and view from the pool were incredible. We had monkeys visiting us in the garden and the cool breeze on the balcony made meal times thoroughly enjoyable. The accomadation is tucked away so trainers are a must if you want to go exploring and to the beach and shops. We didnât hire a car as we wanted to explore the area on foot and we were moving to the South Coast for a second week. We went on some amazing coastal walks for hours to multiple neighbouring villages and spent a lot of time exploring the beaches. You can swim in the natural pools formed on the beach, yes the sargassum was bad but that is nature. It was my second visit to Bathsheba and there was no sargassum the first time. The accommodation had everything we needed, I chose it for its location and the pool which is where we spent our afternoons after hours of walks. The shop is a fair walk up hill but that gave us our exercise and step count and we earned our Banks beers. We had a problem with the wifi following a storm bringing down a wire, communication was great and it was fixed. With a teenager I thought this was going to be a challenge but we decided to get eSIMs in the end as out and about so much. Something I wish I had done from D1 so one to go think about. I highly recommend SeaRentity Abode if you want true local feel and away from it all 5* for me
Beautiful off the tourist trail stay. Amazing views and comfortable inside with everything you need.Itâs a great area if you want to get away from main tourist area - nice places to eat just a few minutes walk awayBe aware the last bit of the journey up the hill would be better if you had a 4WD or an SUV - and in general if planning on touring the East coast in general.Donât be put off by any of that as this is a breathtaking place to stay!Pool was bigger than expected and lovely
The view is the absolute best thing about this property. Being able to hear the ocean at all times was fantastic. The house was pretty well stocked with condiments, pots and pans, toilet paper, towels, etc. the next best thing is the restaurant down the street, De garage, fantastic food which was affordable and run by really nice people. Cons: some of the lights in the home were not usable as they flickered constantly. The pool was very dirty and we never got to use it. It also rained every day (for short periods of time) however the roof in the living room leaked and no one came to look at it after I reported the leak. We got a bit of a surprise at times when sitting on the couch and the rain was dripping a bit on us. Note that there are two neighborhood dogs that are chained up on the property right next door and they bark constantly. I always bring ear plugs and sound machines when I travel but the dogs still drove us mad a bit at times. You also should have a car to get to the house and to drive around the island as nothing is close by. The roads on the island are deplorable and scary but we managed. The Bathsheba area is so beautiful (the whole island has fantastic views and some beautiful beaches) but there is no swimming close to the house. Overall this house is worth it with the views and ocean sounds.
We (3 adults) had an amazing two weeks at Searenity Abode. The place is to die for, not least because of the seaview from the terrace which takes your breath away at all hours of the day, especially when the moon comes up dramatically on the horizon.
The location in the east of the island is perfect, you have to do some driving if you want to see the sights but in exchange you don't have any huge hotels or large crowds nearby. The house is located at the edge of the woods at the end of a cul-de-sac, so you literally hear nothing but waves and crickets.
The house is very clean, lots and lots of bed and bath linens. A maid comes once a week. The kitchen is well equipped, the huge fridge and freezer are a great plus, and there are two coffee-machines and a water heater. The only thing we would have liked was a dishwasher.
The bathrooms are spacious and clean and water pressure was always good.
There is no AC in the house but with the fans and the wind we were never too hot.
The pool is ideal for grabbing an air mattress and a drink and enjoying the ocean view on one side and the monkeys in the trees on the other.
Communication both with the owner Ava-Marie and Yvette (manager about 20 minutes away) was perfect, probably the best I have ever experienced. Both are extremely helpful, no matter how small the question/favor, they answered right away and did everything to make us feel comfortable and safe.
There are a couple of (very) good places to eat nearby and a little supermarket about 10 minutes away by car.
If you are looking for peace and quiet on Barbados - go to Searenity Abode. You will not regret it.
