Great location, but property needs improvement
We just left from a great week in LBI. The weather was picture perfect. You canât beat the location, itâs a short block and half to the beach. There is off-street parking for one vehicle, which makes unloading and loading the car nice and easy. The house was relatively âcleanâ when we arrived, other than the âstuffâ in the drawers and closets. We did, however, discover that the oven had obviously not been looked at prior to our arrival. It was very dirty and there was an actual stuffed shell on the bottom of the oven. I didnât notice it when I turned the oven on to preheat so that was interesting. Weâve stayed in many rentals, and itâs nice to include some information to the guests, such as garbage instructions, Wi-Fi password, etc. Several of the issues mentioned in prior reviews have been resolved, but there are still some safety concerns that should be addressed. The back entrance (which is the main entrance) only has a flimsy doorknob lock. The deadbolt does not work. The outdoor light also does not work. The little utility room when you enter is great for leaving beach stuff, and there is a small washer and dryer. The front door, however, could not be opened. This seems like a fire hazard to me, especially with the utilities and kitchen being at the back entrance. There were also broken lamps all over the front steps and the grass is terribly overgrown and unkept. The bathroom was fine, but the door does not easily close, it needs to be adjusted. There were entirely too many random lamps everywhere that are unnecessary. There are no dressers in the two smaller bedrooms and the closets were filled with âstuffâ. All furniture and decor needs to be updated. There is a sharp metal piece sticking out the back top corner of one of the living room chairs. The kitchen has limited items for use. There is no toaster. We brought our own coffee maker, but there was a small coffee pot and keurig available. I had to buy a colander and knives for us to use. I also bought plastic utensils because there were barely enough utensils for our family of 5 to eat together. The Wifi and internet service is somewhat spotty. Bring your own pillows bc there are very few and they are not very good. The host graciously allowed us to bring our dogs, which we are very appreciative of. It would be nice to have beach badges provided, but we purchased our own for the week which was fine. Overall, we had a terrific week but believe the property could use a little work.
