Room was OK - as advertised.
But TV / Internet did not work.
Food poor - ordered scampi, hand-cut chips / tartar - got scampi, frozen wedges / mushy peas. ÂŁ16.
Nice building but would not reccomend,
We stayed for 2 nights recently the place is fabulous amazing room we had the food was lovely friendly helpful staff would give it all 10 out 10 would thoroughly recommend best place we have stayed in for a long time
The place itself was antiquated with so much character, comfortable and a fabulous size room. Our family of 3 was warmly welcomed and we felt comfortable and settled. The only negative was the TV, there were not terrestrial channels as it said no signal and to try bbc iplayer instead was painful as every couple of seconds the programme on would pause and buffer. That definitely needs improving. Breakfast was lovely though there were no options of cereal, porridge or croissants it was only fried breakfast or toast options but yummy all the same if that's what you fancied.
Lovely staff, helpful and friendly. Food excellant. Room not overly clean, found items on the floor, old building and windows donât open much, very hot and no fan
A really good hotel, friendly and attentive staff.
The steak I had was a bit tough, and didnât care for the herbs on it, saying that breakfast was spot on!

Stayed here for a wedding in nearby Morpeth and was well impressed. The owner and her family were superb hosts, and nothing wax too much trouble. Breakfast superb, rooms clean and comfy, and 72 free parking round the back of the property make it a great base for a long weekend to explore the area.
Would happily return!
Lovely hotel, lovely staff. All the facilities you need. Just a bit on the noisey side. I suppose that what happens with rooms above the pub. Otherwise itâs was a very jolly place. Would stay there again
