This charming one bedroom space is on the upper level of a historic duplex, built in 1895 as a single-family home, converted to a duplex in the 1950s, and fully renovated by us in 2023. It offers 826 square feet, with a living room, dining room, bedroom, full kitchen (with clothes washer/dryer), and entry area where you can store bikes or other gear. There is ample closet/dresser space in the bedroom.
This space is best for for one to four people who want to have direct access to downtown, while relaxing and/or working remotely. We welcome families with school-age children, but the property is not appropriate for pre-schoolers or younger. The building is on a residential street immediately immediately adjacent to downtown. The street is usually quiet, though you may hear some city noises from the larger streets nearby.
Other guests may occupy the unit downstairs, and you may hear them walking around their space from time to time.
Other details about the space:
-There are security cameras outside over the front door, rear door, side door of the downstairs unit, and over the parking lot. The interior is not visible on any of the security cameras.
-The WiFi is typically fast and coverage is strong throughout the space. The desk is large enough to work comfortably on a laptop. There's a great sounding Bluetooth speaker on the desk and a vintage-looking AM/FM radio in the dining room with audio cables for your phone or computer.
-On the 4K Roku TV you can sign into your own accounts.
-There is a full-sized washer and dryer. We supply detergent pods and dryer sheets.
-All windows have blinds for privacy.
-There are two AC/heat unit with remote controls, and a forced air heater in the bedroom. The ceiling fan in the bedroom helps to distribute the warm or cool air.
-The kitchen has a full size range, microwave, and toaster, plus pots, pans, utensils, and the basics needed for cooking.
-There is a drip coffee maker, French press, and a starter supply of drip coffee.
-Extra pillows, blankets, and towels are provided.
-The unit is licensed as a short term rental with the City of Bellingham, permit number USE2024-0006.
Guests have exclusive access to the entire space. The yard is shared.
We live nearby and we are happy to help out with any questions you have about the unit, or with tips about where to go and what to do in Bellingham.
