Nice location. Clean, comfortable room. Didn’t make use of breakfast room since there are so many cafes around. Lobby bar served a reasonable selection of hot and cold drinks and lobby was comfortable enough to sit for a while. Only things: lift and WiFi were both very slow!

We had a great stay at the Gendarm Nouveau. The location couldn’t be beat and the room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The service was also excellent. Truly an excellent hotel!

can't recommend this hotel -- in the summer I've given up going to it as it can be sweltering -- now in the winter no heat in the room and no one to fix it and staff seemed not to care about much of anything -- very indifferent even at check-in

Excellent hotel in its category. Best location in Berlin, walking distance almost everywhere in the center of Berlin. View on beautiful Gendarmenmarkt. Renovated, clean, quite street. Did not use their breakfast since there is multitude of pleasant small cafes around. Also a number of excellent restaurants. Helpfull staff. 2 lines of metro minute walk.... Perhaps a faster internet would be a bonus. Would stay again and recommend. Barbara

Central position a plus. Downstairs reception a minus. Staff OK. Breakfast used to be better more fresh fruit plate. Cleaning of room not great left dirty glasses behind. Water not replenished and no big bottles in bar downstairs.

Brilliant Hotel in an amazing city

Superb location - walkable to all the major sites of the city, 50m from StadMittie metro station, great bars, restaurants and bars and a great supermarket. Fantastic hote

Building work going on next door which started pre 8am. I asked if it was to be like that for the whole stay. First response was they cant hear it (in reception), second suggestion was I talked to the builders myself to find out! Appauling! No answer ever given to me. Hotel bar is in reception and is lifeless and clinical. Rooms decent size and clean but too dark, decorated with minimal lights. Location is good but given the poor service and atmosphere, I would suggest you look elsewhere for the price.

5 nights stay in a perfect location for walking to the important monuments and museums. Very quiet restful room. Breakfast costs extra. Room had too little light after sunset.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at this hotel check in was very quick and we were very impressed with our room - beds were very comfortable! Location was great we found lovely bars and restaurants closeby and we were thrilled with how easy it was to get to! No matter where we were in the city it was never too far from the hotel which is useful when we were returning at 2am!

Can’t recommend....

As I was a single person I was assigned a room on the street side where apparently all of the single guests are put. So as a single person you must tolerate the bar below the windows with outdoor seating and drunken noise and music all night long. It finally closed around 4:30 am and not much longer until trucks and other noise occurs. The room faces the busiest street in Krakow. There is NO air conditioner in the hotel and the rooms are very hot during the summer months. One is forced to open the window to get some fresh air. I was exhausted after my first night which played on my ability to go sightseeing. They could not move me and therefore I was forced to leave the hotel and find lodging on the same street actually, but with AC and tripled panes on the window. I had a great visit in Krakow after my move.
