As you walk in the smell of chlorine from the pool hit us strongly plus there was very loud music that evening as there were 2 big parties taking place. There were two security bouncers standing at the entrance - door. In all, not a great first impression. Once upstairs you notice it looks run down and clinical - has a really outdated and basic vibe. The room whilst it was clean also feels really dated and very basic. Its also quite noisy as you can hear the traffic. And walls are so thin that we heard sounds throughout the night, including some sort of verbal fight going. The good points -Amazing huge gym which was fantastic, the massive pool, lots of hot tubs etc were all very nice. It basically felt like a very good sports facility with hotel rooms built around it! -Free car park at the weekend. -Bathroom is modern and bathroom has a good powerful shower. Unlikely to stay again as we had a really poor sleep.

Big thumbs up for the Village Hotel! 🙌 A huge thank you to Olivia on reception, who went above and beyond to help me during a really stressful situation. The office had booked me in for the wrong day, and to make things worse, the hire van I was driving had a faulty key — with my locked phone still inside! Olivia didn’t hesitate to step in. She used her personal phone to help search for a solution, and thanks to her calm and proactive attitude, we managed to get it sorted. She was absolutely brilliant — a real asset to the Village team! Also want to give a shoutout to the night staff, who were really helpful and friendly too. Thanks again to everyone — you turned a stressful situation into a great customer experience. 👏

Horrendous Smell in 237

We arrived at 2230 and there was a party going on with loud music which did put us off as we were very tired from a whole day at a show. The receptionist was quite blunt and wanted me to tap my bank card but didn’t explain why, not something I’ve done before We went up to our room and actually couldn’t hear the music from the party which we were relieved about When we got into the room there was a card already in the electric slot and 2 fans were running. We were hit with a horrendous smell of stale tobacco smoke as though someone had smoked in the room. The window was open so assumed it was because of people smoking outside however we were facing a flat roof with no people outside We eventually got to sleep as the bed was comfy but upon waking up it still had the horrendous smoke smell In the light I could see there was dust on the headboard We had tea and coffee which was good and the shower was good however all of it was over shadowed due to the smell
