SĂłlfaxi Holiday Home is a luxury holiday villa set in the beautiful BlĂĄskĂłgabyggd area, 100km from Reykjavik and a mere 10km from the one and only Geysir hot spring and Gullfoss waterfall. The home sleeps up to 8 people in luxury accommodation. 4 roomy bedrooms, 2 modern bathrooms and a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and all the modern amenities anyone could need. There is also an extra bed in the laundry room. Free WiFi throughout the property, plenty of free parking, and a washing machine and dryer ensure that this home away from home meets all your needs.
The holiday villa has a large terrace with hot tub where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Whether you want to cook a gourmet meal in the kitchen or use the barbecue, you will not most certainly find everything you need at SĂłlfaxi Holiday Home. The villa is perfect for family gatherings or small groups wanting to celebrate together.
The view from the panorama living room windows lets you enjoy the mountain range as well as the Faxi waterfall just a stone’s throw away. The local area has great hiking trails and options for leisure fishing, and river rafting can be found a short kilometer away. Popular tourist attractions such as the Fridheimar tomato farm, Laugarvatn Fontana spa, Fludir, Langjökull glacier and Geysir and KiĂ°jaberg golf courses are all within 30 minutes of the villa. Many geothermally heated swimming pools in the area, including the secret lagoon at FluĂ°ir and many horse rentals. Many good restaurants are in the area. Nearest grocery shops and petrol stations are in Reykholt, FlĂșĂ°ir and Geysir.
The house is designed to entertain, as there is a big dining table that can seat 16 people comfortably. The house is also perfect for day trips to ReykjavĂ­k.

What a fabulous stay in Iceland ! The house was very nice, we felt like at home. The view is wonderful, I would recommend this house if you want to find a quiet and relaxing place. The house was immaculate upon our arrival, and the beds very comfortable. The jacuzzi is very appreciated.

Such an incredible home. The house is architecturally stunning, but it truly feels like a home, as the hosts have outfitted the kitchen and living spaces with everything guests need. The floor is heated! The water pressure is amazing. The hosts could not have been more accommodating, responding to every question and request we had immediately. The view is stunning, and we were perfectly situated to enjoy both Reykjavik, the golden circle, and sites closer to Vik. Northern lights, stunning snow covered mountains in the distance, and beautiful Icelandic horses nearby.

Fabulous house along Golden Circle

This modern home along the Golden Circle was perfect for our family. The views were incredible and it was conveniently located to excursions, waterfall, and restaurants. Had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend!

Very nice Golden Circle resident with privacy

The property was very spacious for a family of 6. The bathrooms were large, bedrooms were very nice. The extra bed in the laundry room came in handy. The home is down a private gravel road. It had a great view. The owner always responded very timely. It was in the heart of the golden circle and 45 mins to Selfoss. Bio was about 2 hours. My family throughly enjoyed the house and hot tub and would stay here again.

Amazing base to explore Iceland

Fantastic location. Less than two hours drive from the airport and you walk through the front door to a real 'wow' moment. The views are incredible. We visited in April and couldn't be happier with the property. One night we were watching a family movie but the northern lights stole the show. If you are looking for a great house in a fantastic location for a family holiday, look no further, this is it.

The house is beautiful, modern, and conveniently located to most of the sights on the golden circle! We saw the aurora lights every night we stayed on the deck. Really enjoyed the warm floors and water pressure in the showers, and well-stocked kitchen. Plently of space for our family of 5 and amazing views all around. Easy 10 out of 10, highly recommend!

Mixed feelings about my stay

I came here with a group of 9 family members for my sisters birthday. The hosts were great with communication prior to the stay, allowing us to have a smooth check-in process. When we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the amazing view and the overall size of the property. However, the host informed us that there is a possibility of mice entering the property AFTER the cancellation period had passed which we thought was a little unfair. Furthermore during the stay, there were multiple power cuts which had caused the TV or the WI-Fi to stop working (which was needed as the signal for mobile data wasn’t great). In addition to this, we initially thought it was great that we didn’t need to do too much grocery shopping as there was a lot of food and drinks left at the property (perhaps from previous guests) however a lot of the items are expired. It’s incredibly important that this is checked as I ended up having the hot chocolate and felt really sick after. Finally I’d like to raise, the property description initially said 5 bedrooms and didn’t specify that one was in the laundry room (I can see the host has changed this now). This took us by surprise and led one of our family members to have a really uncomfortable stay is an untidy room. We raised this with the host and expected an understanding response however to our surprise, the response was quite patronising and rude. The host was quite defensive and didn’t take in any of my points. Just some things to consider.

Big house with a big view

The house is beautifully secluded but still very central for visiting the sights. The Faxifoss is on the doorstep. We, 2 families of 8 people, spent 6 nights in this villa. the view is breathtaking. there was plenty of space for everyone. A big plus are 2 bathrooms, each with a toilet and shower. Agni is a great host who responds to my messages quickly and goes to great lengths to make you feel completely comfortable. If we are in this area again, we would rent the house again. thank you Agni for this unforgettable stay.
