Block Island historic property in the 'Old Town', initially build around 1850, this property housed the General Store. Completely renovated in 1985 by owner, amenities include hard pine floors and new kitchen and bath. The 2 bedrooms are a queen size bed, and a futon sofa bed in living area to sleep 2 more people, plus a private entrance and bath. Amenities include, full kitchen, gas grill, air conditioning, wireless internet and outdoor shower. Private deck with table and four chars.

Second time staying at Arnie's place

I stayed at Arnie's place, on the 2nd level, with a friend of mine, while our husband's were fishing off Block Island for a few days. This is my second time staying with Arnie. Previously, I have rented his studio-style apartment, when visiting with my husband. Arnie's place is a good location. We flew in from Westerly airport, and could literally walk from the airport to Arnie's in less than 5 minutes. It's also about a 15-20 minute walk over to Payne's Dock and about the same amount of time to walk into town. If you want an affordable option, that's removed from the busyness of being in town or right near Mahogany Shoals, but don't want to be completely remote, this is a very good in-between :)

Quaint 2nd Floor apartment

Charming, old fashion charm. A few spiders in the corners. Beds were not the most comfortable and you can definitely hear the people in the other apartments, above and below. Basics kitchen items provided. Overall, we were satisfied :)

Quiet and Cozy

Was a great place place to stay for a weekend wedding! Arnie was super helpful and personable and the place was comfortable for 5 of us (2 couples and a single)! Would definitely stay again when back on the island!

Good place to stay.

We were offered an early check in time but did not need it. You need to set up a time to arrive to meet Arnie. No remote check in. Air conditioning is not in the bedrooms. Keeping the windows open at night brought street noise in which made it hard to sleep. The bedrooms do have fans. You can walk to the airport for breakfast/ lunch but you need a car/ taxi to get everywhere else. I think the listing says that a car is not needed. You can hear the people upstairs moving around and apparently they could hear us talking since they came downstairs to ask us to quiet down. Mind you, we are women in our 40s who were just talking. We were there for 2 nights and it served our purpose of just sleeping there. It was nice that the rental does not require a week’s commitment. No late check out but Arnie said he could store our bags in his barn if we needed that. The kitchen is well equipped if you do want to cook. Outdoor shower was great! Plenty of towels to use at the house.

Great vacation

Our family had a wonderful stay at Arnie's center road apartment. Apartment was as described in listing. We found space to be bigger than it appears in pictures which was a plus. Great location. It is on the corner of a road so you do hear traffic but it was not bothersome to us. Apartment was clean and well stocked with supplies, beds were comfortable. Outdoor shower was a plus for the kids. Arnie was very pleasant and available if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again!
