There was no running water after the first day of our stay; it was extremely inconvenient. the host was responsive enough in trying to help us through the issue and told us to use stored water cans in the house. But, it wasn't what we expected, and the amount of inconvenience it caused us was not worth the trouble for us. wouldn't revisit the property.
Communication was excellent, location was amazing! The cabin was nice, needs a luttle TLC, but for the price it is awesome. Host was so easy to communicate with and very informative as we went when bad weather was approaching and they were more than willing to work woth us. Keep in mind folks, this is a cabin in the woods so there is going to be some critters! But nothing unexpected in my opinion, and not infested by any sense of the word. Just a mouse or two . Would recommend if you are a nature lover, hiking and scenery is great and readily accessible. Thanks for letting us stay!
The host was great and the cabin is very well stocked with anything that would be needed for a stay. The appliances are great and we enjoyed the time at the cabin. The only drawback is that the location is rather remote and the last portion of the road is dirt with low clearance. It was harder to access with a car and low gear was needed to get up the last hill. AWD/4WD and SUV or higher clearance vehicle recommended. It is a great location for a destination stay, but if you are planning on coming and going multiple times the location will make that more difficult.
It was ok for a very quiet cabin in the middle of nowhere, I expected it to be cleaner based on the high cleaning fee and insurance... the porch furniture did not appear safe to sit on, but the surrounding woods were beautiful. I didnt realize that there was no tv's but thankfully there was wifi, so we watched movies on our phones at night! It was ok, but we probably wont ever stay there again.
Just a beautiful space for meditation and family time. Cabin is beautiful and cozy. We had an amazing 5 day stay and didnât want to leave. This was a well needed trip that helped us feel revitalized and ready to get back to life. Very thankful to have been given such a holistic experience.
Our days started and ended on the spacious deck with views of nature and sunsets. We enjoyed making sâmores, bbqâing, hiking on the trail to the waterfalls and river, and fishing in the pond. While the WiFi wasnât strong and we couldnât find the tv, the kids (and adults) were busy and tired at the end of the day. The setting of the living room bunk beds isnât quite accurate with the picture online, but we didnât need to use them. Communication with the host and details for directions and important info was awesome. Cleanliness was appropriate for a solitary cabin in the mountain. We appreciated being in nature and making memories with family on this trip.
The house was a great size and had ALL the needed amenities including towels and sheets. We loved the quiet location and the pond was such a hit for fishing and for the dog to swim. Loved all the hiking trails nearby and great communication with the host. We did not love that there were a ton of used/perishable items left in the fridge and several used bars of soap left in the bathrooms. Be prepared that the drive to the house is very bumpy and steep and 4 wheel drive will come in handy. Thanks for a great stay!!
We absolutely loved the location. It was so quiet and beautiful in the woods. Overall it was a very relaxing trip and we really enjoyed the fireplace. While the cabin was nice, the number of dead stink bugs and other bugs detracted from the overall enjoyment of the location. We did also have a mouse in the dining room that was dying (I'm assuming from poison that was put out?). Overall it was a good trip and loved the location but would probably choose a different location next time because it felt like only minimal cleaning had been done.
My wife and I were joined by our 3 sons, their partners and our 4 grandchildren. There were 11 of us in total from Wisconsin and Virginia. We spent Christmas week together having a wonderful experience up in the mountains. Between the fireplace and the woodstove, we were very warm and cozy and had the best time.
We enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful and scenic. Kira warned us about the road leading to the home and provided alternate directions, which was very helpful.
