Enjoyed our stay. Nice place and location. No soaps or shampoo when we got there, but were brought to us later.Old, creaky floors, but it was an old and well-kept place.
Very unique and historic accommodation! Pros: a nice screened in porch and additional outside seating areas, overall pretty clean, a well-equipped kitchen and large living space. The cabin is tucked into the wooded and secluded Sprucewold neighborhood. This is a 1920s log cabin and you are getting a 1920s bathroom as well -- it's doable, but just something to be aware of! With the nostalgia of the place comes the nostalgia of old appliances - which worked fine! You can also hear everything in this cabin, so if you are overly concerned with privacy this is not for you. Overall, just be mindful of what you are renting -- our kids enjoyed it and it was a unique and beautiful area.
Sasanoa is a beautiful cabin in the woods. The vintage decor is lovely. The living area is very spacious, comfortable and perfect for two couples. Screened-in porch is great for reading and/or games. The location is extremely peaceful and quiet!
Beautiful place! Our group of 4 was age 60+, so be aware of the somewhat steep entrance steps. We really enjoyed the screened in porch.
Immediate response was received to replace a none working coffee maker.
True cabin experience!
Rustic charm like I have not seen before. Be prepared to stay in a real log cabin, plank floors, pitched log walls and all. Rustic as I mentioned yet still has the creature comforts we like to take for granted, plenty of hot water, full kitchen including a dishwasher, and internet connection. If we get back I will stay there again for the big front porch and serene setting on the hillside above the water.
It was very nice there, but for the money we spent it should have been much cleaner. We had some problems, like the garbage behind the place and not knowing what to do with our garbage, we left sat and the garbage gets put out on Monday. I hope nothing got into it after we left. Also the kitchen lights flicker when on but other then that had a great time.
Beautiful cabin in the woods. Close to everything that the Boothbay Region has to offer. The cabin is rustic, charming and has everything you need for modern amenities including great WiFi service. The history of the Sprucewold area is wonderful. The cabin was comfortable and has a ton of character. The only negative was the overnight temps combined with no heat made for an interesting morning. The cabin has a beautiful stone fireplace that we used for the evening but not overnight and space heaters are provided. I would absolutely rent this cabin againâŠmaybe just a bit sooner in the season.
Very well kept up 1920's log cabin with plenty of space for 2-4 people. Pros were it has lots of atmosphere and is very close to lots of Boothbay Harbor area shops, restaurants and sight seeing spots. There wasn't a great reading spot inside the cabin and the overall lighting at night was darker than preferred. It was fairly priced for the features and size.
