The staff are very friendly and welcoming. More than willing to solve problems. I am learning to speak French and so I was grateful to converse with the maid. The maid was the real saving grace! Unfortunately the excellent service does not make up for terrible design issues. Perhaps too much effort was made on trying to create “style” and not enough on the basic utilities associated with a hotel. Guests require the receptionist to come to the room to change the air conditioning. Temp control is the minimum requirement to call yourself a hotel. Second, there is no water or tea making facilities in the room. Third, the initial room I was given was facing a brick wall. Fourth, the towels are old and small. This hotel looks like a french chateau on the photos. It’s not. Fifth, the breakfast was motorway service station. Overall this is an overpriced air b and b in the middle of a motorway. Ibis need to start again here and create a hotel instead of trying to ape a bansky art shop which I am afraid just does not work. I would not stay here again I am afraid.

No one working in reception. Bar and restaurant closed. Key not working to door, if we wanted to leave our room together, we needed to chase down someone from the empty reception to let us back in our room.

Checked in for 1 night as traveling through France The room was very tiny. It was not clean and needed repairs carrying out. See photos. It stated we would have bottled water in the room and would have expected a small bottle each. When there was only one for 2 guests we asked at reception for another as thought it was a mistake he shrugged his shoulders and said no, only one !! There was no hair dryer so had to leave with wet hair following my shower which was a work of art as the shower head only pointed towards the wall if you didn’t lift it off. Our room door would only lock if using the deadbolt on the inside so when going for breakfast had to leave it open/ unlocked. We have stayed in better Ibis budget hotels. To say this was supposed to be a styles class it was terrible. The 2 redeeming features were the breakfast that was included in the room rate which was very nice. Also the beds were comfy.

My husband and I stayed for one night. We had a cat and dog too. Only one pet per room allowed so they gave us adjoining rooms. It was just perfect. Very comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel and staff were lovely, all staff extremely friendly and helpful, I had several questions due to french covid restrictions which were answered promptly by email before I traveled The restaurant was closed due to covid regulations, but breakfast was available by pre ordering and then collected on a tray to eat in the room , and it was a good continental breakfast The room was comfortable, clean and quiet And the parking was plentiful and in a secure compound As stated before the staff were a credit to the hotel and I would definitely stay again

One night stop en-route Calais.

A single night stop en route to Calais. Hotel very easy to find just before entering Bordeaux city. Plenty of free parking. Reception quick and efficient and room clean and adequate. Not the biggest room but for a night or two was fine. Large bathroom, modern and clean with shower over bath, good shower pressure. Breakfast was typical continental and self service. Downside - no fridge or tea coffee making facilities in the room! Overall a good option and would stay again.

A second dissapointing visit

First of all, I've stayed here before once in January but it was a room at the upper level. This time I've stayed in a room on the groundfloor. 1. Room was filled with ants and small spiders. I think I killed over 20 of them during the stay. Both in the room and in the bathroom 2. First hotel room ever without any thash bin inside the whole room . Had to use a bag in order to improvise . 3. No glasses inside the whole room . Went up to the kitchen to ask for a glass. 4. In order to get to the room I had to use 2 elevatos , even though both of them are showing access to gnd rooms, only one of them actually takes you there, so unless you receive indication at reception on how to get to gnd rooms, you might end up dazed. 5. Only good aspects this time were the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff
