Near Monbazillac charming gîte 3ha park heated swimming pool barn

In La Colombière, a place of relaxation and rest, you will enjoy the green landscape and the many facilities at your disposal.

The swimming pool and its large terrace will delight young and old. You will take advantage of the shaded awning of the barn to have your breakfasts and meals in peace. You can also retire to the reading area in the mezzanine.

This large gite, cool in summer, is located in a fully restored barn and can accommodate two to four people. It has a beautiful equipped kitchen, a living room with TV and sofa bed, and a bedroom, as well as plenty of storage for a comfortable stay. With a refined aesthetic, the decoration combines the old and the contemporary. You will enjoy a remarkable view of the park and its 18th century dovecote.

The property is located in the heart of the purple Périgord vineyards, in an area of 3 ha, and many hiking trails crisscross the countryside.

If you want more sleeping, you can also rent the Muscadelle cottage which is located at the left end of the barn.

From La Colombière, you can easily visit a region rich in natural sites, renowned for its prehistoric and historical sites and with an exceptional heritage.

You will have access to the entire accommodation and to the shared central space of 180m2 with mezzanine, furnished with a sofa, armchairs, tables and libraries where books for young and old are at your disposal. The central area includes a ping pong table.
You will also have access to the park and the terrace in front of the barn where you have a dining area with a table and chairs.
Shared use of the 11m x 5m heated swimming pool, from 10h to 19h, from May to October.
Wireless internet is available throughout the property.

You will have a work space for laptop and a private entrance, accessible from a porch after a few steps.

Relaxing and enjoyable holiday

We had a very relaxing holiday in this gite. Olivia and Alain are friendly and helpful and we spent a very pleasant evening putting the world to rights over aperitifs. It is in a peaceful area but close to all amenities, including a very well stocked shop and a boulangerie in Bouniagues, and there is plenty to see and do in the area. The gite itself was very comfortable and clean and the pool was lovely with stunning views. We really enjoyed our holiday.

A beautifully designed 1 bedroom gite which was perfect for 2 people. Beautifully situated with wonderful views & pool. Excellent shop & bakery in the nearby village The outdoor space is shared with the owners & the 2nd gite.. The Wi Fi connection was not always reliable. Fantastic and beautiful retreat with excellent facilities and wonderful host!

We are a family of four and had the pleasure of spending 7 nights in Olivia and Alain’s property. The space was ideal and very well finished with lovely furnishings. The location is idyllic and the setting with the Dovecot and outdoor pool make this truly a great place to relax, swim, sunbathe and enjoy the Perigourd region. We spent a wonderful week chez Alain and Olivia. La Colombière is an amazing place to stay. Alain and Olivia beautifully restored the buildings and the garden with perfect eye for detail and its surroundings into a great and relaxing place in the Périgord. The apartments, the swimming pool and the dovecote are equally beautifully designed and taken care of. Olivia and Alain receive you with warmth, lovely wine from the region, foie gras, many good conversations and suggestions for nice things to do and places to eat in the region. Très beau gîte plein de charme et au calme

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Olivia et Alain. Leur accueil fut très chaleureux et nous avons partagé de très bons moments avec eux ! Le gîte, très agréable et fonctionnel a été rénové avec beaucoup de goût. La piscine est aussi un atout avec une vue imprenable sur les environs. C’est un endroit avec beaucoup de charme, au calme mais qui permet de rayonner très facilement dans la région, quelles que soient vos envies. Je le recommande sans hésiter et y retournerai avec grand plaisir ! Encore merci Olivia et Alain d’avoir partagé tant de choses avec nous. A notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par Olivia et Alain, un couple adorable et très accueillant. Nous avons séjourné dans un gîte très agréable et joliment décoré avec tout ce dont on a besoin pour passer d’excellentes vacances ! La propriété est tout simplement magnifique avec beaucoup de charme : la vie y est paisible avec une vue sur les champs et un joli pigeonnier. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par nos hôtes. Ils ont été très amicaux et nous avons pu avoir des discussions très intéressantes avec eux. Empreints d’une grande culture, ils sont avides de partage et c’est vraiment quelque chose de rare. Ils sont également de bon conseil pour les activités à faire aux alentours. La Colombière - Bouniagues - Bergerac : Heaven on earth

When an architect and a former banker decide to leave Paris and start a new project restoring a farm and barn in the Périgord, there is a fair chance for the project turning into something special. And this is indeed an understatement. La Colombière has been carefully restored with a great sense for detail, using natural materials and relying only on local craftsmen. The place breaths authenticity. On the inside, both apartments are brand-new and equipped with a state of the art kitchen, a beautiful bathroom you would like to have at home and enough place to rest and have a good night sleep. The stunning barn separating the two apartments offers plenty of space for relaxing, reading or for children to play. The large terras offers plenty of shade, the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The swimming pool is disinfected with salt making the water so soft you want to stay in all day. A real gem in the large garden is the beautifully restored dovecote which is Olivia’s hidden retreat for reading while husband Alain is mowing the lawn or reading car magazines, a classic car-aficionado and collectioneur he sure is. We had a wonderful time. Olivia and Alain have have redefined hospitality. We were welcomed with a glas of champaign, a basket with a bottle of Monbazillac, foie-gras and the best home-made Mirabelle confiture we ever had. Add some delicious Brioche bread or a crusty Baguette from the local baker and your in heaven. In France, eating is feasting. A sacred ritual, and to fully enjoy. You suddenly recall why the Italian word for tomato is pommo d’oro : they come in all colors and are so tastefully you would be prepared to pay in gold. And in the Périgord, the truffle is never far away, the cheeses are so delicious you want to relocate. At once. Olivia and Alain do everything to make you feel at ease. They really enjoy having people around. They were very helpful in assisting us what to visit and when. Bastides, chateaux, gardens and beautiful villages scattered over rolling hills covered with sun-flower, vineyards and golden wheat : the Dordogne valley is such a beautiful place. We will come back. Very welcoming and beautiful location

We were received very hospitably and immediately felt very welcome. The apartment is beautiful and we had enough space for the four of us, the common area was nice, especially for our children. The rural and quiet location between the vineyards is wonderfully peaceful. The garden is spacious and the view is very nice. The pool is great, we had a wonderful holiday here! Thank you Olivia and Alain!
