The room was quite large and the beds comfy, one of them had a bad squeak though. The bathroom was tiny, not good for a 4star hotel. There was no hook behind the door for your clothes and underneath the plug chain, which was wrapped around the tap, was black, it obviously had not been cleaned for ages. The booklets in the room looked as though they had been there for years and were well worn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to ask for a couple of things for the room and they were dealt with immediately. There was no a la carte menu in the dining room, just a 3 course menu with choices for each course and you had to have them all. We ate in the bar where there was a choice of pizzas, burgers and a few others. The food was excellent though. There was a service charge added to every purchase, even though it said that this was optional, we were not asked about it, and it was just added on. I don’t object to a service charge, but I prefer to make my own choice of amount and whether I want to pay one or not. The cost of parking was £15 per day, which was a lot to say that we had already paid for accommodation.
