ABOUT THE RENTAL
Escape to this stunning four-bedroom, three-bath home nestled in the serene woods of The Reserve at Boyne Mountain. Sleeping 8 comfortably in beds (with extra space for a few more in the lower-level living area), this home is perfectly situated for winter adventures—whether hitting the slopes, exploring nearby towns, or relaxing in your private winter getaway.

Step inside from the 2-car garage into a welcoming foyer that opens to a gourmet kitchen fully stocked for cooking. The kitchen, dining area, and great room flow together in an open-concept layout, making it easy for everyone to gather. Cozy up around the grand stone gas fireplace while watching TV, or simply enjoy the spacious, warm ambiance after a day in the snow.

The home’s layout offers privacy and comfort for all guests. The main level features a luxurious primary suite with a king bed, walk-in closet, and full bath with a tiled shower. A queen guest room with an en-suite is also located on the main level, accessible from the foyer. Downstairs, a second living area offers a TV, 4-person card table, and a variety of games and puzzles for hours of entertainment. Two additional queen guest rooms bookend the lower level, along with a full bath, ideal for family or friends seeking space and comfort.

Outside, enjoy the peace and seclusion of the property, while still being just minutes from Boyne Mountain and central to several charming Northern Michigan towns. This home is designed for an unforgettable “up north” winter experience, complete with snow, cozy nights by the fireplace, and plenty of space for fun and relaxation.
*All wheel or 4-wheel drive is recommended to access this rental property during the winter season.

BOYNE MOUNTAIN SKI LIFT STATUS
This cabin is not ski-in/ski-out. It is located in The Reserve at Boyne Mountain, positioned on the upper backside of the resort, roughly 5.5 miles from the main lodge. For easy slope access, you can park at the Kitz Cabin parking lot—just about a 3-minute drive away. Access to the inside of Kitz Cabin is not granted per the association's bylaws.
Please note that the nearby chairlift servicing this area operates on a schedule that may change. We recommend checking the Boyne Mountain website for the most up-to-date lift hours during your stay.


BOYNE MOUNTAIN RESORT INFO
When the snow arrives, hit the slopes for some of the Midwest’s best skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country trails. The resort also features the Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark, a guest favorite for all ages. At the base of the mountain, you’ll find a lively village with restaurants, bars, and shops—including Everett’s, Forty Acres Tavern, the Trophy Room Pub & Pizzeria, and Stein Eriksen’s. For relaxation, The Spa at Boyne Mountain offers massages, saunas, steam rooms, and a fitness center. (Please note: additional fees apply for these amenities through the resort.)

Awesome family friendly place!

I really enjoyed this home. It was very clean. Great communication with the host. Just be aware that this home is about 8-10 minutes from the Boyne Mountain Resort. It wasn't a big issue for us, but I didn't realize that when I booked this home. I woukd definitely book this home again.

Plenty of Space but 15+ Mins to Boyne

Large enough for a family of 8 and no problem cooking dinner in the kitchen. My only issue was the distance to Boyne resort. GPS says 5 miles but with the mountain roads it will take 15-20 mins. Besides the distance everything was clean and beds were comfortable. I would recommend this place if you are not shuttling kids back and forth from the mountain.

The cabin was clean and exactly as listed online. My family and I had a very nice time staying and really enjoyed the scenic neighborhood. It was perfect for a Boyne ski trip.

Great value

This was a great, affordable condo for our group of 6 (3 couples) and could easily accommodate 8+. The communication with the host and property management group was excellent and quick. The check in process is easy. The place is nice and gives your group space for cards and meals. We had a small request while there and the owners responded right away. The two things I would add for those looking to stay are 1.) it is pretty far from the base of the mountain (10+ minite drive) and 2.) bring a blow dryer. Overall totally worth the trip and a great value.

Boyne Ski Trip

The home was NOT ski in/ski out, could not access the slopes of Boyne without driving up to the Kitz cabin parking lot. Also - owner did not provide access to Kitz cabin. Met another couple that was renting a house and their owner did provide access to Kitz, not sure why this owner does not. Home was very clean and a great size for our family of 5. Had all you need to cook - which is great, but no exhaust for the stove. We made bacon one morning and the house smelled like bacon for hours. House could use some updating - decor and furnishings. But really, it is a great house - just not ski in ski out as advertised.

Great Cabin!

The property was extremely clean and well appointed. The location is perfect if you want to "get away" from everything but still be within 15 minutes of the Ski Lodge and 20 minutes from actual civilization (shopping, entertainment, etc). Our situation was a bit different because we were there during a +24" snowfall, which made driving difficult (even with 4-wheel drive), and even the plows were struggling to get the road semi-clear. The communication with property management was great. We had to book 1 day earlier due to the storm and it was as simple as a phone call. The fireplace made the trip even better, but for me... the full 2-car garage was a game changer. We brought 2 vehicles and knowing that they were safely covered inside while more than 2 feet of snow was piling made a big difference to me. The kids loved having the downstairs to themselves, and with 2 bedrooms down there, we were happy as well. The only thing I had an issue with was that the window in one of the bathrooms did not have a curtain or blind to draw closed when someone was in there. It really needs to be addressed as I have seen other reviews that have made the same comment. I also wish it were a little closer to the skiing (like ski-in/ski-out) but one can't do much about location. Overall it is a 5-Star rental

Great secluded spot with access to Boyne

We loved our stay and found the house to be clean and very charming. We found everything we needed. Particularly enjoyed use of the gas fireplace for a cozy cabin feel. Bedrooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Great amenities overall, but if I had one wish it would be they would provide coffee for guests. We were a little surprised it didn’t!

Winter Cabin Getaway

Our family of four loved our extended weekend getaway to this lovely cabin in the Reserve. Enjoyed the seclusion being one of the properties furthest back in the reserve. Easy drive to the slopes and waterpark, as well as to Boyne City. House was plenty big for our family and we look forward to a future stay.

Use Kitz Cabin for ski in and ski out

Once realizing Kitz Cabin within the Reserve is near a green run made the logics better. Otherwise with weather, 15-20 drive from Cabin to Boyne Resort. Would be nice as a guest to be able to get inside Kitz Cabin

Great Cabin!!

Cabin is on the back top side of Boyne Mountain with absolutely amazing views. It was certainly more like a home with everything needed for our stay. Wonderful areas on both levels to just hang out after a long day on the slopes.

Excellent home, location and amenities!

We, 8 adults a two new grandkids, truly enjoyed our stay at your place. We ate in to save $ and it was very comfortable and convenient. The kitchen had more accommodations than my own home! The gas fireplace added a cozy, special feel to this up north gem. Several of us skied; The ones that didn’t loved enjoying home, views and casual stroll in the neighborhood. All of us used the sleds, they were a nice touch taking advantage of the snow and terrain. They really came in handy snd were a nice touch!!

Great house, Lackluster management

The Good: This rental was spotless upon our arrival. The main floor essentially has two master suites with attached bathrooms, which is a nice feature not seen in many places. The lower level was a bit chilly, but we were thankful for the large space heater provided! Kitchen was well-appointed compared to previous places we’ve stayed in. Location was picturesque in the woods. As mentioned in previous comments, you definitely need AWD in snowy weather to reach its remote spot on the back of the mountain due to some steep grades and hairpin turns. Being able to park 2 of 3 cars inside the garage during our stay was an added bonus. The Bad: The only access to the home is through the garage door with a code entry. No keys for the front door nor a garage door opener were provided. This may not bother some folks, however we found trying to walk on an icy drive to get the garage door open less than ideal. The second master bathroom window had no blinds or curtains and looks out directly at the neighbor’s house. We hung a makeshift curtain out of a black garbage bag and band-aids for privacy. There is only a small trash bin in the kitchen, when it really needs a proper one with a lid given the size of the rental and number of people it sleeps. My biggest complaint is lack of responsiveness from the management company and poorly updated contact information in the app. When we arrived, there had been recent snowfall on top of a very icy driveway. The contact number provided to us was invalid and also could not be reached by text. We found another number in the cabin’s info binder and were reassured by that person the plow company “knew what they were doing” when we asked for some sand or salt to be put down. 2.5 days later the plow company arrived 1 hour before our departure time and proceeded to plow/shovel the drive around our parked cars as we were loading. They did not put down any sand or salt, and both myself and my elderly parents nearly fell several times over our 3 day stay. We tried reaching out again through the contact information in the app and have yet to hear from anyone at the time of writing this review. I find this surprising and frustrating given previous commentary about how great the manager had been. Bottom line: I would probably stay here again (like I said the house is great!), but not during the winter months. Make sure you get ahold of someone at the management company before your trip just in case.

Great place to stay!

We had an amazing time at Boyne and loved this house! The house was super clean and had everything we needed to have a great vacation. We ended up adding on an extra night and the property management did a great job of making the arrangements. We will definitely stay here again!
