Escape your busy schedule with a stay at this superb one-bedroom lodge in the North Devon countryside and enjoy a truly relaxing break with your four-legged friends in tow.

Set within minutes of the outstanding Saunton Sands, and boasting a beautiful design, you'll have your own hot tub for indulgent soaks, and a lovely deck for alfresco dining. Inside there's a modern open plan living / kitchen and dining area which accesses outside through large bifold doors, and a sumptuous en-suite master bedroom with king size bed and garden views.

Guests with dogs can savour long walks on one of Devon's best beaches at the fabulous Saunton Sands, an idyllic 3-mile stretch of stunning golden sand, backed by the UNESCO-protected Braunton Burrows Biosphere Reserve before grabbing a bite to eat at the fabulous dog-friendly Beachside Grill. Nearby, the South West Coast Path picks up part of the Tarka Trail along the estuary of the River Taw (part of North Devon's Biosphere Reserve) which is an easy level route for walkers, passing through marshland and nature reserves that teem with wildlife before ending in the village of Instow.

Pets: 2 pets allowed, a fixed fee of £25 per dog for a short stay of 2-4 night stays and £40 per dog for a 7+ night stay is chargeable, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the bedroom areas.

Good Housekeeping Bond
We ask our guests for a £50 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

Great accommodation and good location to explore the local area

We had a beautiful lodge, well equipped and in a good location to explore the local area. We spent most days out on walks with our four legged friend who was welcome at most places in the local town which meant we we could stop off and enjoy some well earned refreshments at the end of the day before returning to our lodge where we then made full use of the hot tub, even though it was March! Would definitely consider a return visit perhaps later in the year or again next year.

Fabulous break

My partner and I had a fabulous winter break with our little dog. The hot tub was warm and clean, the lodge was beautiful and immaculate, the garden was fully enclosed so we didn’t have to worry about the dog, and we were just a short drive from the beach and local restaurants and takeaways. It was a wonderful, great value, stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to return - thank you so much.

Stunning Accommodation, immaculate and the best for your furry pets

From the moment we arrived we were met with the most amazing location and accommodation. Absolutely immaculate throughout, they think of everything, the kitchen very well appointed. Bathroom stunning with the benefit of large shower and bath. Really comfy bed and nice to have a dressing table. Garden excellent for the dogs no escaping so can sit relaxing not having to worry. Hot tub a luxury and great temperature. Hosts always available if any questions but also give you privacy. We have already booked to be back in July. Value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great field lodges are the best...

Recently stayed at Great Fields lodges for the second time and we're not disappointed. Fabulous lodges, good location and brilliant host. Can't fault the property, superbly appointed with plenty of space inside and out. Hot tub protected by the elements just in case. Everything appears to have been considered for your comfort. Will be back in 2026

Had a wonderful time at croftner, the lodge was clean and tidy and had everything we needed, the hot tub was a great touch at the end of day out, so relaxing, the garden was brilliant for the dog, completely closed in and safe, would highly recommend staying here.

Great stay

Beautiful lodge, very clean, warm inside and fully equipped. The hot tub was lovely to use and very warm. The enclosed garden area was beautifully designed and not overlooked by the other lodges, very quiet setting and not far away from Braunton town, highly recommended

Perfect Short Break

We had a perfect weekend in this lovely lodge, we met the host on arrival very helpful. The lodge was very peaceful, private and well appointed, we especially enjoyed the hot tu The lodge was warm and cosy in the evening, especially after coming in from the hot tub. We are looking forward to booking again.

Fantastic Breakaway

Lodge was immaculate with a large enclosed garden for our dog to roam freely whilst we enjoyed the jacuzzi (frequently!) Choice of outdoor furniture was appreciated. This was our 3rd stay at Great Field Lodges and we hope to return again!

The best Lodge break we have been on

Everything was thought out and absolutely perfect !! Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Nearby plenty of beaches, pubs and shops almost everywhere dog friendly. We will definitely book to stay again

wonderful stay at Croftner, Great Field Lodges

The lodge was immaculately clean and beautifully set up. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom has everything you need including a stand alone bath. The self contained and secure garden was perfect for our dog to have some freedom when we were home. The kitchen had pretty much everything you need including a small dishwasher perfect for two people. We didn't use the hot tub so cannot comment on that.

We have always had an amazing experience staying here the two times we have been. The place is in a very convenient place and easy to get to places close by for entertainment. The hot tub is amazing and private with no one overlooking. All in all a 10/10 stay as always

Excellent Stay

Me and my partner stayed for 3 nights with our dog and to say we had the most lovely time is an understatement. The lodge was in perfect condition with lovely touches like a bottle of Prosecco and dog treats for the puppy. The area was amazing with incredible walks and a lovely town with a great fish and chips (Squires) and great brunch spots. We will definitely be back again and can’t thank the owners enough for such a lovely weekend.

Fab hot tub stay.

High end lodge with quality furnishings. Located a few minutes drive from the village and ten minutes from the beach. Private area for the dogs was excellent. Would definitely recommend 5 ⭐️

Amazing place to stay with the dog

We recently returned from a monday to friday visit here. The layout of the lodges means it wasnt over looked and you had your own space. Everything we needed was in the lodge... even some treats for the dog. We had an amazing time and was only a few mintues to the beach saunton sands Would recommend to anyone

Perfect Devon getaway

The lodge was perfect for us as a couple with our dog. It was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and just the right size. We thoroughly enjoyed using the hot tub daily and it was nice that the garden was fenced off to allow our dog to roam free whilst we were using the hot tub. We brought a lot of food for our stay, but it was nice that some bits were already provided to get us started such as a small milk, coffee pods, shortbread biscuits and a bottle of prosecco!
