The Space:
Windermere Escape by Tiny Away is a 10-acre “Land for Wildlife” property in Wights Mountain, just 30 minutes from Brisbane. Ferny Grove Station is 15 minutes away, with direct trains to the city. Nearby highlights include Jollys Lookout, Mount Glorious, Mount Nebo, and Cedar Creek.

Perched on a hilltop, the tiny house overlooks the forested slopes of D’Aguilar National Park. Wander the gardens, orchards, rainforest, or spot turtles at our dams. Our holiday homes offer a peaceful retreat, surrounded by nature.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny house with fresh linen and pillows, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Access to the land host’s private residence and the guest unit attached to it is restricted. The sheds and vegetable garden are also off-limits.

Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and explore the ten-acre property. There are plenty of walking trails to discover. Please note, as there are (3) unfenced farm dams onsite, which is not suitable for children.

Additionally, we have an outdoor terrace with seating, a Weber barbecue, and a fire pit.

Preorders with 24 hrs prior notice:

- Extra bags of firewood is $20 per bag
- Gourmet Continental Breakfast Baskets are available at $26 per person

The Neighborhood:
Windermere Escape by Tiny Away is in the peaceful Wights Mountain neighborhood, Moreton Bay region. It’s just a 30-minute drive from Brisbane. Only 5 km away is Samford Village, full of coffee shops and specialty stores — including the Store of Requirement for Harry Potter fans!

Our local favorites: Cedar Creek and Eatons Crossing have great swimming spots. Nearby, Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious are charming hilltop villages with beautiful forest walks. Jollys Lookout near Mount Nebo offers amazing views of Enoggera Forest, Moreton Bay, and the Glasshouse Mountains.

Or visit the family-run Lyell Deer Sanctuary in Mount Samson, or enjoy boating and fishing at nearby Moreton Bay.

Getting Around:
By car:

- Brisbane City centre is 30 minutes drive, 26 kms. Allow 45 minutes from the Airport. Samford Village is 5
minutes drive, 5 kms.
- "Windermere" is easily reached by 2WD.

By public transport:

- Take the train from Brisbane Central to Ferny Grove Station. From here it is a 15 minute drive by taxi to
"Windermere Escape".
- You can also park your car at Ferny Grove Station for a stress-free train ride to Brisbane City or the
cultural events at Southbank.

Other Things to Note:
- Gas Weber BBQ Grill available
- No smoking allowed on the property
- No unregistered visitors or guests allowed
- We have a laundry (washing machine) for guest use
- We have shy wallabies hopping around at dawn and dusk
- Telstra and Optus have good signal; others have no signal
- Extra bags of firewood for the fire pit are available at $20 per basket
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays will incur an additional charge

Safety guidelines

- Keep to the paths and do not walk in long grass
- There are (3) unfenced dams, so guests should take care

Important note:

- Due to the nature of the property, be aware of reptiles and insects
- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests.
