Pros: - Lobby is great - Staff were very friendly and helpful - Location is excellent - Room was clean and modern - Bed comfortable Cons: - Room was quite generic compared to the shared areas - Room quite small for the price - Standard double bed (4'6) on a room called "Deluxe" was surprising to me - Huge pillar in the middle of the room made it a bit claustrophobic - Some marks on the shower ceiling and damp marks on the walls in the bathroom. I've stayed at another hotel in Bristol at a similar high price point and the bed is an emperor size (plus you get access to the spa) so while this hotel is fine, I think there might be better options at the same or similar price, or cheaper options for the same thing.

Lovely spacious room. Friendly and efficient staff. City centre location. Bathroom had both a rainfall and a hand-held shower head. The only minor gripes were 1 - no fridge in the room 2 - the random selection of TV channels, which was a bit hit & miss.

The Clayton is in a great position for exploring Bristol. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely big room which was clean and comfortable with a great shower. We had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was excellent too. As we had a late train back, we were able to leave our bags for the day while we explored the city. I would definitely use this hotel again!

As usual, the hotel itself was lovely, but this time, check-in was a nightmare. Checked in online, but when the code was inputted into the kiosk to collect the key, it didn’t work. Went to the desk and the receptionist was very rude. She argued for some time that it was user-error, and would not listen to what the issue was at all. Luckily, the manager stepped in, listened to the explanation, pulled up the reservation and had the problem with the code fixed in seconds. Their professionalism and courtesy was night and day. The receptionist could use the same customer-relations training that the manager obviously received. It was an unfortunate way to start this stay (since everything about this hotel is usually wonderful).

The room was clean, modern and well appointed. Reception staff were informative and friendly. The location was very central which was ideal. It’s the second time we’ve stayed and would definitely return again .
