Two story country pole frame barn with 2 queen bedrooms, 2 single beds in upstairs sitting area large undercover upstairs deck kitchen bathroom open plan living with combustion fire and outdoor campfire amongst the gum trees and native wildlife. See our resident Kangaroos It has the feel of being isolated. But its only 30 mins from vineyards 20 mins from Lake Macquarie10 mins from M1.

Jan and Garry were amazing hosts who were there on call when we needed help. The house is beautiful and situated in a nice and peaceful setting. Would love to come back when there are no fire restrictions to roast some marshmallows on the fire pit!

We had such a nice time. Garry was very thoughtful with everything. He came by to check on us, share interesting things to do and daily built us a fire at night. The house had everything we needed. We were two moms with our sons who are friends and felt well taken care of. We will go back.

A perfect bush getaway, yet close enough to great places which you can explore such as the Hunter wineries. This was the best find for us and we will definitely be coming back. The whole vibe of the house and its location was perfect. The owners were very quick to respond to any queries and extremely nice people. We were six adults and we all loved it!

Our dusk outdoor fire which lasted for a few hours. All the wood was provided and the pit was set up Ashe’s rest for us to flick a match to!

Tranquil Escape in the Bush

We had a wonderful stay at the bush cabin! The peaceful surroundings and beautiful natural setting made it the perfect spot to unwind. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved waking up to the sounds of wildlife in the morning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in nature!

Garry & Jan, are wonderful hosts. The house is stunning with everything we needed. We all enjoyed relaxing around the indoor fireplace. In the evenings we especially liked toasting marshmallows around the outdoor fireplace. The location is great and easy to get to from M1 motorway. It is also an easy drive to lots of great local vineyards and the Hunter Valley gardens. We even visited Toronto on the lake for lunch. Thank you for a lovely time away.

I actually don’t think the listing does justice to how beautiful this little retreat is! It has all the best parts of being out in nature but with all your creature comforts like a cosy fireplace, comfy beds, and a full kitchen. Thank you Jan and Garry! We can’t wait to come back :)

Relaxing holday

We had great time at Garry’s place! The wonderful house in the forest filled with amazing personal touches, board games and the fireplace made for an absolute pleasure of a stay! Kids loved a friendly dog who liked to visit us.
