On arrival we were greeted by Benjamin - the owner/boss, the self-styled Direction Generale - who is full of witty repartee and warmth and good humour, and as we were to find out, spoken in many languages too.
Hotel Mozart is like Marmite. It isn't for everybody. We loved it and so did our friends who had come over from Cologne to see us. They know where they will be staying next time they are in Brussels.
The real attraction, aside from very friendly and helpful staff, is that Hotel Mozart is only steps from The Grand Place. What a bonus! I just didn't appreciate how close until we arrived!
Hotel Mozart is styled throughout very much on a Moroccan theme which is buzzing with chintz, artwork, frou frou drapes etc etc and has to be seen to be believed! Every wall, floor and ceiling is covered in tiles of different colours and designs and that's just a fraction of the charm!
The continental breakfast every morning was delicious. We loved the croissants and jam and seeded bread with cheese. Tea and coffee aplenty too.
We had time on our last morning to sightsee some more of Brussels and a last minute trip to buy yet more Belgian chocolate. Hotel Mozart were more than happy to keep our luggage for us until we were ready.
When it was time for us to get our train Ben went to get a taxi for us. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for Ben. Wonderful! Thank you. We will be back and will tell all our family and friends that Hotel Mozart is a must stay when visiting Brussels.
There is plenty to do near the hotel. There are a lot of places to eat right outside the front entrance of the hotel. The owner is a very friendly guy and very helpful when you have questions. I would recommend staying there and even start a conversation with the owner.

Good but poor mattress.
Characterful hotel in centre of Brussels. The only grumble we had was the state of the mattress, very uneven with a big section with much less support than the rest of the bed. We wouldnât complain but mattress is a pretty basic thing and this one was poor.
I thought I'd enjoy this place due to the ecclectic decor and close proximity to the Grand Place. I decided that it was not for me and left a few hours later for a new place. Not my style.
Super close to the Brussels attractions. Nice, friendly & helpful staff. Met the owner- have lots of good humors and very humble. The hotel Mozart is like museum to us. So many antiques collections. My mother, my cousin & me was so thankful for the delicious warm Moroccan tea. Highly recommended to all travelers to stay in this place for your next vacation and adventure in the heart of Brussels & Europe.
Well we've never stayed anywhere quite like this. Very difficult to rate because I'm not quite sure what to compare it to! This was an unepxectedly very quirky hotel - unexpectedly Morrocan style and every nook and cranny is stuffed with ornaments and things to look at. An absolute maze of corridors heading off in allsorts of unexpected directions.
Wonderful hotel, beautiful blend of Moroccan and Belgian charm and culture. Ben the owner was amazing and the live piano was incredible. Well worth staying.
Great location, restaurants and bars right outside the hotel. Palace square maybe 100.meters away. In Brussels walking district, so plenty to walk and see and do. BEN THE OWNER IS GREAT GENTLEMAN.
