The Shoreland Home on Lake Lanier With Dock
Windows everywhere make it feel like a tree house, on the lake. Our families home is all about family & friends gathering and having fun. The spaces in the home are very socially engaging. Take an easy 45 second, walk to the lake in our quite cove and go for an evening canoe, its pretty special. Bring your own boat and tie up at the dock if you prefer. The creek in the back of the home, that flows into Lake Lanier, is lightly active and creates a nice soundtrack for evenings on the back decks. The home has amazing fast internet, streaming media on the televisions, SONOS whole home audio system, games for the whole family, gas grill, multiple decks to enjoy the wooded setting by the lake, foosball table and a kitchen that is very well appointed. At Lanier Vacation Rentals our goal is to provide a 5 star level of service experience beyond anything you you would expect. Send us a note and let us know how we can make your experience 5 star!
Scott was wonderful will all the details before, during and after the stay. The driveway is steep but the parking area is flat for loading and unloading.
Here is some info for people who want to bring boat. We rented this property for guys weekend. I don't live too far away so I brought a boat. Several of the local ramps are currently closed. The closest open ramp was Old Federal. It's 15-20 minutes from the dock by road and about the same by boat running around 20 MPH. The water at the dock is shallow but I didn't have any issues with my 25' deck boat. Parking the trailer at the house wasn't easy. We ended up backing the trailer into a clear area across the street. I'm not sure who owns that but when we left to get the boat out of the water the neighbor put a large dump trailer there. On the last night with the boat on the trailer the only option was to back onto the parking pad on the road and block the driveway. The driveway is VERY steep. Also note that the dock is not visible from the house. From the house there are several sets of stairs going down to a dirt path that goes to the dock. It was a great property and we enjoyed it just beware the things above.
Great lake house with an awesome first floor master suite! Plenty of comfortable beds upstairs for family and guests. The sound system was amazing! We loved the open floor plan with all the windows. Lots of things to do in the area.
The property owner was very responsive and easy to work with. We actually met him and his business partner when we checked in. Our kids really enjoyed the house. The kids bedrooms upstairs were large and the private bathrooms were a big bonus. It feels like a lake house, which is what we wanted. The Sonos speaker setup is really nice and the foosball table in the basement was fun to play.Since it was late December when we stayed, we didnât take advantage of the lake. But we could see it from the house. There is a very nice screened in porch with a fireplace on the back of the house with multiple deck levels leading down to the lake. There is a short and very steep driveway. Itâs a bit intimidating when you first approach it. The location was great for us, as we visited Gainesville a couple of times. Easy access to 985 and 85. Shopping, gas stations close by also.
The home is amazing. The area is peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed our family retreat and loved the outdoor screened patio with fire place, a great spot to talk and nap. The rooms were spacious and we all loved the various sitting areas, both inside and out to talk, read, play games and eat. The house was clean and well maintained. Our host responded quickly to any questions we asked. We would highly recommend!
Our family loved this property. The dining room windows gave the experience of being in the middle of the woods high up in a tree house. The house size was very comfortable for our family of five. Scott the owner kept in contact offering to assist us with any issues.
Our family had a great time staying at this property for our spring break vacation. The kids loved the "big room" upstairs, and spent lots of time fishing from the dock. The screened in porch was great for reading and relaxing. The kitchen was well appointed, and the great room and dining room had beautiful views of the lake and trees. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Very nice place, well arranged and very clean. Host was super easy to work with and accommodating. We will definitely be looking forward to staying here again
We had a great time at the house(Mid-March), it is very spacious and plenty of beds. Master downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs with multiple beds. All the bedrooms were huge and all have full ensuite bathrooms. My kids loved that! The dock is a short walk down some stairs and a short path, very easy the get to. We had nightly foosball championships downstairs. We all loved the big couch in the living room with fireplace going. The outdoor screened in porch was great, too. Driveway is steep but there is room to park your car at the top next to the street which is wide and very very quiet! Made the perfect spring break family getaway. We went to the Atlanta aquarium and the cute town of Helen on day trips! Perfect!
A beautiful treehouse. You might miss it, drive slow up to the address. The steep driveway is almost inverted it is so steep. Truly have never seen anything like it. The parking area is flat and safe to walk on but not many handrails. The first floor is just magnificent. The home is so beautiful. The kitchen is adequate stocked with ample supplies and the pantry is around the corner. You almost miss it. The dining area and living room are very nice. The fireplace is visible from the living room and the back porch. We did not explore the back porch and beyond, as we just did not have time or need. The master bedroom, closet, and bathroom are exquisitely decorated and simply beautiful. The wooden stairs to go to the second floor are wide with adequate hand rails. The bedrooms upstairs are huge. One has two full size beds. (Might be queen.). There is a full bathroom with tub/shower in both. It has a loft that is not really accessible or furnished. There is a landing reading nook on the way to the other bedroom that has another full or queen side bed with an additional two twins. It has childrenâs books, games, & toys. The basement door is almost missed because you think it is a closet door near the entryway on the first floor. Stairs are safe then living area was perfect for our son with a sofa bed. The laundry has a toilet. Would have been nice to have a shower. Overall very good price for very nice home. Communication great also.
House was great, plenty of room for a family our size. I like to cook for our family and the kitchen had everything I needed, even spices and cooking spray. Driveway and parking was a bit treacherous, and getting down to the lake was more of a haul than we would of liked, but the house and location to local attractions made up for it
I'm a little delayed in writing my review. We stayed at this home for 2 1/2 weeks back in April and couldn't have been more pleased. We had some water damage in our home and had to temporarily move out for the repairs. Scott was so kind with working with us on the uncertain length of our stay (you never know with things like this, it could go smoothly or it could get delayed). Beyond that, we loved the house. It's like being in a tree house with all the beautiful woods in the back. We filled up the bird feeders and enjoyed the visitors.
I *loved* the fireplace. I enjoyed it both in the living room and on the covered porch. My kids loved having the luxury of their own bathrooms en suite in the upstairs rooms and my husband and I were more than comfortable in the master downstairs--which has a beautiful bathroom attached as well. The beds were just as comfortable as our own at home.
Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate with us to make use of the lake, but it's a nice little walk down there and we definitely would have used the kayak and paddleboards if it hadn't been so chilly and rainy while we were there.
The location is easy to get to and find and feels secluded even though it has easy access to the interstate and all that you might need.
Overall, I would recommend this house to anyone. My husband has even talked about renting it again some time in the summer (even though we live less than 20 minutes away!) so we can enjoy the lake.
You can't go wrong with this house. Scott is great about communication and very easy to work with. Five stars for sure.
