"Cabin in the City" available for your pleasure. Walk to Downtown Burnsville.
Our cabin has a clean and cozy atmosphere. Built in 1986, it has all the amenities needed for modern living. Master bedroom consists of a King bed and dresser. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The space also features a laundry room with full size washer & dryer. Roomy kitchen and dining room will suit a modest gathering of six persons. The living room features cozy two (2) half moon couches.
Guests have the entire upstairs available to themselves. The cabin is a duplex with a tenant living in the finished basement. There is no access to either level from the other.
Front porch holds outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful weather that exists in the Western North Carolina mountains and a charcoal grill for your outdoor entertainment.
The Cabin in the City is named so because it resembles a true cabin but it is located in the city limits. Within walking distance to downtown Burnsville, a charming small town in the mountains about 35 to 40 minutes northeast of Asheville. It was established in 1834.
Burnsville is located in Yancey County. Yancey County is home to Mount Mitchell, the highest mountain East of the Mississippi River. In fact, 5 of the 10 highest mountains in Eastern America are located here.
Yancey County is home to waterfalls, campgrounds, backroads, hiking trails and clean rivers.
The Toe River region, which takes its name from the Native American word, Estatoee, is home to hundreds of artists, crafters, musicians and writers.
The annual Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair is held on Burnsville Town Square the first weekend of August with arts, crafts, food vendors and live music throughout the event. 9am to 5pm Friday & Saturday
The place was clean, close to downtown (still needed to drive). We were in town to help Samaritan's Purse to help with rebuild. There were games and a few snacks as well that were a bonus.Thank you!
Perfect location! House had all the amenities we needed and was exceptionally clean. Beds very comfortable. Highly recommend and will be back next year.
We were in town to visit family and found the cabin clean & comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and the laundry room as well. The hot & muggy weather made the a/c so important, and the two units easily kept us cool. The cabin's large livingroom and diningroom gave us plenty of room to gather as a group when Burnsville crew came over.
My husband, son, and I loved this cabin. It is in a very peaceful area of Burnsville, yet so close to the center of town. The house was clean and tidy. We had no issues whatsoever. We would definitely stay here again.
would love to stay here often, but communication & check in must drastically improve. 3 phone conversations with VRBO proved unsatisfactory.....no real help; finally got in the place 2 hours post check in time in near freezing temps. Wanted to come one day early to spend more time volunteering in WNC but could not reach host
The cabin was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The host was very responsive and helpful. The king size foam mattress was very soft and the pillows were large.
The air conditioners and floor fan were adequate at cooling the house. The kitchen was very good, as were the washer & dryer. There is a nice front porch but some side deck boards need replacing. The yards of the adjacent homes are untidy, but we enjoyed seeing horses in a nearby field and the view of a mountain. It was a great location for hiking in the area.
Communication was excellent! Property was very clean with well stocked kitchen, bath, and laundry. So happy to have a large fan + A/C in 2 spots with temps near 90! Lovely porch for coffee time in the morning & great walking distance up the hill to library and Playhouse - we visited both!
This is truly a cabin in the city. It has quick access to the nearby food/grocery store while also being thirty minutes from great hiking spots. The front yard is enclosed and allows plenty of room for your dog to be able to chill outside without worry. The house itself is clean and well-stocked with supplies that you might need while there, and it has a view of the mountains when looking to the right of the house. The town square has a few cute shops to browse through, and the nearby Garden Deli restaurant is really good. We really enjoyed our time staying at the âcabin in the cityâ and hope to return one day.
My friend, dog, and I stayed here for a hiking trip. We hiked the Roaring Fork Falls Trail which was thirty minutes from the house - highly recommend! We then drove to Mt Mitchell which was also thirty minutes from the house. However, plan for a full hour to get to the top of Mt Mitchell if you want to hike the Overlook Trail and the Balsam Nature Trail (also highly recommend) as it takes thirty minutes to just drive up the mountain.
This property was very easy to find. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the entire house. The bed was very comfy which is a big deal for my wife and myself. We appreciated the complimentary items like the coffee k cups and the breakfast items. We would stay at the property again.
In the hospitality industry, things donât always go perfect. Sometimes things just happen that we have to roll with. The hosts and I did just that. They were apologetic over something minor and I helped how I could and hopefully made things easier on them. We canât control every little detail, but we can control how we respond. I recommend this rental, it was adorable, the fenced in yard was a bonus!
We enjoyed out stay at the cabin. It was close to everything we wanted to see. It was very clean, quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay there again. Great host and a beautiful home.
