We had a really lovely time hiking in the area and then coming back to the cabin to relax. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by flowers, hummingbirds, and butterflies.
It was a great getaway.
Please update the advertisement to say this property is located at the end of a very small road that is very over grown with briars and branches. I drove a full size truck and the sides were scratched immensely by the branches and briars. Parking was horriblyâŠvery narrow driveway straight up with nowhere to go at the top! Very little room to even get out and walk around the vehicle! Not at all well maintained on the outside or roads up to it! No air conditioning!!
Overall the house/bedrooms okay. Hot tub needed to be cleaned and filledâŠvery low on water any no hose anywhere to add water to it!
Drawers in the kitchen were falling apart..no bottom in some of them. Property and land around really needs some attention!
Overall we had a great time! Beautiful area with lots to see and explore! The cabin was great, clean and quiet. The host was excellent and very responsive to the issue we had. The property has a neighbor who is really close but we only saw him once in the week we were there. Definitely 5 stars and speaking of the stars, the view from the hot tub was great!
We were pleasantly surprised by this little getaway. It was a lot more spacious than we originally thought and we were so comfortable there. We even got to see a little snow! That was the cherry on top for a great stay!!
Also, little tip for newcomers, be sure to download the instructions and follow exactly what the owners tell you, the GPS is not far off, but having landmarks as reference definitely make you feel more at ease. You really will NOT have any signal going up there (which is kinda the point, if you ask me) but fear not, the wifi signal in the cabin is great.
We definitely would enjoy going back!
We loved our stay here! Completely remote and off the grid! Definitely will go back, however, the other reviews are correct in stating to start the hot tub as soon as you check in, we only booked Friday-Sunday and didnât get to use the hot tub because it took until Sunday morning to get to 87 degrees, even though we started it the moment we checked in Friday afternoon while this was a huge disappointment the rest of the stay was definitely worth it. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need, they provide laundry as well, and plenty of wood to provide heat as the properties heating is only by baseboard heat, wood stove and a lovely electric fire place in the living room! Again we will definitely return in the future! Just wouldnât recommend booking only for a weekend if you are intending on using the hot tub!
Thank you to the host for providing us with a lovely mountain getaway!
Had a fabulous weekend in this rustic Cabin in the NC mountains. We went to Mt Mitchell State Park for a short hike and then the hot tub after to warm up. The cabin was clean, nice and cozy. Had everything we needed for a nice weekend together. And the view was also quite nice and relaxing. We recommend.
Follow their printed directions that they give you when booking to get to the cabin. Because Google does try to lead you into a driveway.
We had a great time. The cabin is as described, rustic. The host is very accommodating and answers questions quickly. We enjoyed the hot tub very much. Its location is out of this world and remote. There are other homes nearby though, but you are out there on the side of a mountain. It was peak fall and we enjoyed all the colors. It was peaceful!
Checkout was a breeze and nothing out of the ordinary.
Was disappointed in the view of the mountains - there wasn't a view. The neighbor above us seemed very interested in keeping an eye on us - a little creepy. Still, we loved the cabin.
The rustic cabin is a secluded getaway in the mountains with long walking trails all around so that you don't have to go far once you arrive. My wife and I hiked two of the longer trails and they are steep but were enjoyable. The hot tub was nice and keep and eye out because we saw a black bear two times, once was 10 feet behind the hot tub.
We wanted a nice getaway from heat and humidity and we found it. The cabin is located in the mountains where it was 15-20 degrees cooler than our home area. We found some great hikes, saw some wildlife and had a nice relaxing time. Recommended!
My husband and I were looking for a quick getaway. The place was the most clean of any place that I have stayed before. We knew the place was remote so we got our groceries on the way in. If your not used to country roads it can be a little intimidating but we took it slow and had no issues. Nice area to hike. If you bring dogs be sure to check them when bringing them in, both my dogs each had a tick on them after one of our walks. Heat up the hot tub as soon as you get there if you plan on using it because it takes a while to heat up. We were worried about no air conditioning but the temperature in the house stayed perfect.
I would absolutely stay again in the lovely hideaway!
Some tips for the owner: I would have loved a few more kitchen supplies such as cleaners, and dish sponge to wash dishes. Other than a few little things we loved how private it was! You are definitely tucked way up in the mountain away from everything. So bring everything you could possibly needs, condiments and all. Waze navigation took us directly to it, so the extra instructions werenât necessary for us to find it.
Was nice and clean and cozy!
Really a lovely place in the mountains. About an hour ride north of Asheville. Would definitely stay again. Great couples getaway.
Pros- private, beautiful view, hot tub, super roomy space, easy to find
Cons-10am check out, no spices at all in the kitchen so bring your own for cooking, internet is pretty bad
