Drove for 5 hours on day of check-in to receive an email telling me our booking was cancelled. Had emailed twice in the week leading up to it, the last the previous day to ask about checking in.Host claimed it was VRBO accepting booking, VRBO claimed host cancelled. We had the aggro of trying to find alternative accommodation and ended up 20 miles away. Atrocious service
Contacted property manager and Vrbo the day before to enquire about accessing the property. Received no response. Called the owner at 9.15 on the day. He sounded confused but raised no issue, so I got on with my day. Received a text after 10.30 to say the property was not available! Apparently vrbo had not coordinated the availability. Host offered to book us into a local hotelâŠ. Not ideal as we could have done that ourselves (and chosen a better hotel) but we had plans with friends and dinner was booked.
Hotel was poor, door to my room had to be slammed to close, and it was damp.
We arrived home after our evening just after1am to find the hotel locked. Had to sleep in the car.
I will never EVER use or recommend Vrbo again.
Our weekend was ruined!
