Cozy Loon Cabin in Namakagon on Little Bass Lake
The Cozy Loon Cabin is a three-level lakefront home on quiet Little Bass Lake in Cable, Wisconsin, located approximately 20 feet from the water's edge and designed to blend Scandinavian-inspired architecture with a close, natural connection to the lake and surrounding woods.
Little Bass Lake is a non-motorized lake, well suited for paddling, fishing, and swimming. Guests have access to a private dock, and the setting is intentionally calm, shaped by the surrounding forest and lake rather than nearby development.
Cable, Wisconsin—often referred to as Trail Town USA—offers extensive access to outdoor recreation throughout the year. The area includes hundreds of miles of trails for mountain biking, cross-country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, ATV riding, and snowmobiling, as well as access to the National Wild and Scenic Namekagon River. Trail access, distances, and seasonal conditions vary, and guests are encouraged to plan activities based on current conditions and interests.
Inside, the main living spaces are centered around an open living and dining area with large lake-facing windows, a fireplace, and a kitchen designed for everyday use rather than formal entertaining. Materials and furnishings emphasize durability, simplicity, and comfort over luxury uniformity, with original artwork displayed throughout the home.
Layout & Sleeping Areas
The cabin is arranged across three levels. The main living, dining, kitchen, and one bathroom are located on the entry level. The upper level includes a primary sleeping area with a queen bed, an adjacent open sleeping nook with a twin bed (no door between them), a bathroom with shower, and a loft-style TV and gathering space.
The lower level includes a windowless TV room and two additional bedrooms with lake-view windows—one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. This layout works especially well for families or groups comfortable sharing space across levels.
For guests who need to work during their stay, the cabin includes dedicated workspaces and fiber internet (1000 Mbps). Cell service can be limited in this part of the Northwoods; however, Wi-Fi calling is supported.
The property includes outdoor secure gear storage and practical amenities for outdoor-focused stays, including bike storage and maintenance tools, ski and snowshoe storage, a boot and glove dryer, kayaks with paddles, and an EV charger (J-1772, daily fee applies). These features are intended to support self-directed use rather than guided or serviced experiences.
Local points of interest include the Cable Natural History Museum, CAMBA trail system, American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation, and several small restaurants, cafés, and shops in and around Cable. Equipment rentals, trail maps, and local guidance are available in town.
