You will not be disappointed with the location! Beachfront and walkable to everything in town. A few notes we wished we would have known (but did not deter from our experience at all): -Cabo Pulmo is fully solar-powered community, so you should be prepared to charge your devices during height of daylight only (e.g. 11am-2pm). We also only had hot water showers during daylight hours -The beach in front of the house is a rock beach (the sand in the VRBO photo is a sand-road that runs alongside the house). It's gorgeous and sounds amazing, but it was not what we were expecting from the photos - My husband could smell pesticide scent (others in the family could not) so we slept with the windows open for ventilation, which meant we were lulled to sleep by the sound of waves :)
I would have appreciated a hair dryer. The bathroom's used toilet paper bin needs to be changed every 2 days please. Ours was changed after 45 - not sanitary. Please put up a sign once you are inside the property to tell us where Casa Del Mar is - its very confusing. Thanks.
Needs a lot of TLC. Extensive termite infestationâŠ.putting electric tape on the cabinets doesnât solve the problem. My biggest complaint would be the lack of hot water in the shower. Water never got as hot as I like it and even the warm water was only good for a few minutes. I know this is all done in the name of conserving water and power but this was ridiculous.. The layout of the unit was also odd with the bathroom connected to the kitchen though there were doors that separated the two. The staff were great. I liked that I could do laundry and the location was good. I just believe in value for dollar spent and it just wasnât here.
We traveled to Cabo Pulmo to snorkel the reef. We liked the location - about a 5 minute walk to the restaurants and the dive shops. Being right off the beach, the sea breeze made the heat bearable. There seemed to be adequate power - we kept our devices charged and ran the ceiling fan continuously while there. Would stay there again.
Well equipped with toys and snorkeling gear for the active families
Great experience in a gem of an area, Cabo Pulmo. House was nice, next to the water. Has partial ocean views, the villa in the front commands spectacular views. Highlights for us was a well equipped shack with several kayaks, snorkeling gear, coolers, umbrellas, etc. Bed was very comfortable. The people there were wonderful. Negatives were the solar battery was on the fritz so we were conservative and kept the fans off to make sure the fridge stayed cold--it did. Internet was out too but we knew ahead of time that internet throughout the area is spotty. Also, no bed sheets for the pull-out bed for our child. But those were minor issues, it was a great trip, we plan to go back and will stay there again.
We arrived about 10 minutes before check in. Previous guest was still there and had refused to leave at check out time. The place was a mess and smelled of Lysol which was used to cover up the smell of cigarette smell. Full ash tray in house. The staff was very apologetic, but had there work cut out for themselves trying to clean the house. The owner had another unoccupied, but more expensive house available, but the staff were not authorized to let us have that one and they were unable to get in touch with owner/manager in US. We returned about three hours later and house was almost ready. After that, our stay was fine, but it was not a good start. Not really the staff or management's fault, but it would have been nice if they had just shifted us over to the unoccupied house. Besides the bad start, the onsite staff was very friendly and helpful.
