Casa Acuario is absolutely stunning, such a unique gem off the beaten path. We spent an incredible week making memories as family and took full advantage of the space indoors, outdoors, pool, nearby beach, etc. can’t recommend highly enough!

Beautiful View

The view is the best part of this rental. It is not a sunset view, but that is a short drive or walk away, if desired. The facilities were in great shape. Well stocked with all the modern amenities. The location is great for those who do not want crowds. We got unlucky and there was some construction at the bottom of the hill so we did not get the peace and quiet that I assume would be more normal. The three beaches we went to that are close each have something unique to enjoy. Getting to the house the first time is a real pain in the ass, but the location is close enough to get to restaurants and other tourist stuff. Great house, amazing view.

Better than the pictures!

This house is great and the views are breathtaking. For the price, this is a wonderful value. The house is modern with all western amenities that you could need. The views from your deck are literally million dollar views, truly once in a lifetime beauty. The outdoor area has a grill and comfortable, nice furniture. The pool is also beautiful, and it was so relaxing to float and stare at the scenery. The locals are so nice and helpful, very welcoming. The staff for the property management company are all over the top sweet and helpful. Liris is the property manager, but she treats you like you are family coming to visit. It was some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. We had so much fun exploring the beaches by the house and just taking in the beauty. As mentioned by others, the only tough part of the stay is making trips down the dirt road that leads to the house. It is truly a dirt road with uneven texture and can be hard to drive through. I also think it’s around 5 miles long, so it’s a bit of a drive. Please do make sure to have 4x4 capabilities in your rental to make it easier. However, I would def stay again in a heartbeat. The people are as wonderful as the views and this was a truly great vacation!

Care Comfort Contentment

Casa Acuario provides comfort for a family with top of the line appliances, plush furniture, nice linens, stocked kitchen with multiple appliances, ability to gather inside or outside for poolside fun or family games. The grill provided some great family meals. Love the convenience of the well appointed laundry room. And let’s talk about that view of the Bahia de los Pirates which is only a short drive away for a closer look and exploration. Close to multiple beautiful beaches, it was a perfect location to visit many of our favorites as seasoned travelers to CR. Being there on New Years Eve we had a fireworks show and didn’t know whether to look left or right along the coast line. It was tranquil at night and you could relax to the sound of the ocean waves. We were looking for a home that provided peace and pura vida and Casa Acuario provided that. We personally love that the home was off the beaten path. Exactly what we look for when in CR. A 4 wheel drive would be best if you plan to visit this home. Liris, the property manager, ensures everything is perfect for your stay with a smile. Well managed and the owner is also invested in ensuring your total satisfaction. Please be advised if traveling with persons who may have difficulty with stairs or small children with the stairs and the pool, which has a deep end. But otherwise a highly recommended home for families to enjoy.

Million dollar view

Our stay was fantastic. The drive and location is not for the faint of heart but once there you can’t ask for a more relaxing home. Views are indescribable, the pool was wonderful for our daughter, and the bird watching off the patio was great. We can’t wait to return with extended family.

Our first trip to Costa Rica. This house was as good or better than the pictures! Our family of 6 was very comfortable with plenty of space for more. The view is amazing. Even in the rainy season, the patio was perfect. Be sure to visit Mira Beach. The property manager, Liris, was excellent. She took great care of us. We will be back!

We had an absolutely lovely time at Casa Acuario. Liris, the property manager, was incredibly helpful and responsive to our needs, even providing groceries and dinner for us the night we arrived after a late flight. The place lives up to the pictures on line, which is rare in our experience. While it's a bit removed from things, grocery stores and restaurants as well as beaches are easily accessible. We loved cooking in, using the BBQ, and sitting outside, enjoying the amazing view and the great pool. The kitchen had basically everything we needed. The house itself is very lovely. Do rent a 4x4; the roads are a bit rough heading in, but nothing major. Thank you for an amazing visit to Costa Rica; we can't wait to return!

Wonderful trip to Casa Acuario

We originally booked this trip for March of 2020 and had to postpone twice. The folks at Evolve were very accommodating, and we finally made it happen in 2022. The property was just as beautiful as it appears in the pictures online. Liris, the property manager, was very helpful throughout our stay. We loved everything about the trip and can’t wait to return!

More Than Expected

This house was incredible. Even better than the VRBO write up. Very clean, well-appointed, extremely private and the view is INCREDIBLE. Liris, the property manager, was so great and very easy to communicate with. We were there during the raining season and although we had mostly sunny weather, the covered BBQ area was great when it did rain. The pool is stunning and larger than it looks in the photos. The house is close to some great, less crowded beaches - Playa Real, Playa Minas and the western side of Playa Conchal. All just a five or ten minute drive from the house. Make sure to rent an SUV 4-wheel drive and buy supplies before you leave the main road. The dirt road to the house is bumpy and takes about 10-15 minutes. The street up to the house is quite steep and very bumpy. There are no close-by services. Nearest groceries and gas are 15 minutes away. It will take about 25-30 minutes to get to Tamarindo. We didn't have any problems with spiders or snakes but did see lots of geckos and iguanas near the house. The Howler Monkey's "howls" echoed throughout the jungle every morning and evening! Even though we were there during the rainy season, we didn't see even one mosquito. The house, view and surrounding are well worth the price and dirt-road travel. Costa Rica is a treasure and Casa Acuario made it even more special.

Amazing views

Couldn’t explain having coffee on the back patio every morning with such great views. What a way to relax!!! I would highly recommend this place. Only drawback is does take a little bit of time to get in and out of the main roads to the house but once you’re up there definitely worth it. I suggest buying plenty of food and possibly eating dinner or breakfast at the house so you don’t have to leave more than two times a day but other than that highly recommend it for friends and family stays!

Magical experience!!

Amazing views, the photos do not do this place justice. From beginning to end it was a magical experience!! Definitely recommend a 4x4…without it getting around would have been difficult. A 4x4 will allow you to visit even the hardest to reach beaches…which by the way we practically had to ourselves. We will definitely come back, if you will have us!!

Seeking the perfect getaway!

Experienced visitors to Costa Rica, and first time renters of Casa Acuario. The property manager met us and escorted us directly to the property and gave a thoughtful tour of this wonderful home. Situated between two of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, this place offers quick and easy access to enjoy the surf. The house and grounds are impeccable and very well maintained. It is also stocked with everything you need, except groceries of course! We relaxed by the infinity pool, where we enjoyed beautiful pacific coast sunsets every night. Also had some wildlife visitors, that the kids enjoyed!! Looking forward to our next stay at Casa Acquario!

Had a wonderful vacation at Casa Acuario in Playa Conhal. Spent 2 weeks with my 3 sisters and a cousin, in Feb/March 2019. The home was spectacular. The views of the ocean were unbelievable, from every room in the house. Kitchen was fabulous and very well stocked. With open concept on the main floor There was space for everyone. Beautiful dinning room and well laid out living room. Washer and dryer came in handy, with all our beach wear. Main floor 3 piece bath was accessible from outside, which came in handy when swimming in the pool over looking the pacific ocean. Mega lounging outdoor space by the pool or under the covered patio with a complete outdoor living room and outdoor kitchen with bar fridge, sink and BBQ. Always an ocean breeze. Sitting out in the evening you can hear the howling monkeys off in the distance, incredible. Bedrooms were very comfortable. If you are the lucky ones and get to stay in the master bedroom you have the best view just lying in bed. The master suite is incredible. Out door shower for when you come back from one of 3 close local beaches, which are off the beaten path. For this rental you would need a car as the house sits up on the mountain on a dirt road. The Liberia airport is very modern and is about 1.5 hrs drive to the house. Some of the roads are slow going as you get closer to the house. Closest town is a 15 minute drive. There are so many local restaurants to experience. If you want to experience Zip lining you have to check out Diamante Eco Adventure Park. There is one zip is called the superman AKA superwoman for me and my sisters. What an experience 4000ft up 60mph in 90 seconds looking at the pacific ocean all the way down. If you want to experience a rain forest go to Mistico Arenal hanging bridges park. Spend the day at a beautiful day spa, wadding in over 20 different temperature hot spring fed pools, at Baldi Hot Springs, with lunch or dinner included. All of these experiences can be arranged with help from the management company, with access to a van and driver. I recommend the Casa Acuario as a 5+star rating.

I can't wait to go back! I was there with my sisters and a friend. A memorable girls vacation. The house was beautiful. We were so comfortable inside and outside. When not doing amazing day trips we visited the nearby beaches or just hung out around the pool or in the comfy outside living space. The kitchen had more than everything we needed and the dinning area allowed us to sit comfortably for hours enjoying ourselves. The house was spotless and the outside areas were beautifully kept. We felt so grateful to be together in such beautiful surroundings. Thanks!

Beautiful Home

Overall, we loved Casa Acuario. The home itself its beautiful and spacious. There is a large kitchen, which is fully stocked with cooking and baking items. There is one full sized bathroom on the living level and 2 full sized bathrooms upstairs. One of the bedrooms (the one with the bunkbeds) in adjacent to the living room. The patio and pool area is huge and gorgeous. The view is breathtaking. The wifi at the property worked really well and there were entertainment options if you want to stay in. We downloaded movies onto a firestick and watched that way as well. Plenty of linens and towels for everyone at the house, the pool was clean and was also cleaned several times while we were there. The grill outside was easy to use and was also very clean. Did I mention the view? There are two king beds one queen and then the bunk beds and the beds were comfortable. Also a small loft area with another day bed and television. Staff was also very very helpful and responsive at all times. There were a few negatives but nothing that would cause me to reduce this from a 5 star property; just for full disclosure. First, you need a car to get here. The road from the main road is mainly dirt and there are some areas that are very bumpy. Second, we had a few scorpions come to visit during our stay, however, it is to be expected because of the location. I did not notice a lot of other insects inside.I did have to clean the master bath myself because it was not clean but it just looked like it hadn't been used in some time, also a lot of hard water build-up on the shower heads however, I think that is an issue with the water in Costa Rica. If you have a large SUV, the fit getting to the house is a little tight. We had a few bushes scrape the car but no damage. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this property

Incredible view, 5 minutes to a beautiful beach.

We went with family, enjoyed the facilities, had a great time. The property is well maintained and the staff kind and service oriented. Be prepared for 15 minutes of dirt road to get there.

Casa Acuario - I expected more.

Good location overall. Peaceful and Quiet. We arrived on a Friday and got handed the keys to the property by the caretakers. The main door key did not fit - had to use the balcony door until Monday when the new (correct) key arrived. Caretakers don't work on the weekend. The Property Management is difficult to reach. We connected via WhatsApp. The unlimited local calls home phone needs a SIM card that can only be replaced by the property owner. Requested a substitute phone that was never delivered. The alarm does not work. The trash dumpster does not exist - at least we never found it. The patio lamps are infested with Wasps and Bees - took a little policing to make it safe. We sprayed them ourselves since we asked the caretaker upon arrival and he left w/o doing it. The kitchen plates, glasses and utensils had food - very dirty! I expected better!

Costa Rican Paradise!!

Our family of 6 spent 10 nights at Casa Acuario in February. It was nothing short of amazing. The home is even more beautiful in person. The woodworking and stone throughout is just gorgeous; the pictures don't do it justice... it truly is breathtaking. The ocean view from the balconies and infinity pool are second to none. We found the management company very professional during and after the booking process, and our concierge contacts were extremely pleasant to work with. When we arrived by car we were late getting in and got lost along the way to the house (our own fault). Mario actually drove to find us and then guided us in his vehicle to the house. How amazing is that? The home is situated close to beautiful beaches (a couple of minutes to a local beach that is gorgeous (Pirates), maybe 10 minutes to Playa Conchal....treat yourself to a $20 massage and a fresh coconut for $3!) Tamarindo is a must go to and it's only 20-25 minutes by car. Mt Arenal was UNREAL. It's a good 3 1/2 hours away though, so consider staying overnight as we drove it all in one day and were exhausted. The weather was about 35 every single day with no rain; it does rain at Mt Arenal though. It's actually quite brown and dry on the coast in February; however, the property has lush green plants as Mario watered regularly. We did see some local bugs and were shocked at the Jurassic sized grasshoppers. Who knew they could grow THAT big. There were iguanas everywhere outside, along with a tarantula and 5 scorpions..yep I counted! Coming from the prairie province of Manitoba Canada we don't have any scorpions etc, so was interesting to see them in their natural habitat. We could hear howler monkeys at dawn. Loved it! Best part was waking in the morning and opening our eyes to the view, as you can see the ocean from your bed....sigh!!!! We are sad the vacation is over, but when we return we would stay at this wonderful home again. Thanks for the beautiful memories!!!

The house is amazing. It was private, vey clean and modern. It was stocked very well and had everything that you may need and more. The views were breathtaking and close to many great beaches. You can't go wrong with selecting this home.

Casa Acuario.....simply the best

What a perfect vacation, exemplified by a beautiful home, all the amenities you could wish for and views to take your breath away. As one who loves to cook i felt right at home with an amazing up to date kitchen to work from. Also, as one who loves to run, i felt so comfortable and safe venturing out, and was able to discover many beautiful exclusive beaches just a short distance from the home. I would not change a thing about this home, its breathtaking private location, and its very modern amenities.

Casa Acuario! Great place!

What a way to sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery and listen to the birds and the waves from the infinity pool with a nice glass of wine. This villa has everything you could possibly want on a vacation. Property is spotless and modern. Lots to do in town if you like or just chill on the property.
