Beautifully renovated antique farmhouse on pristine lake.
Located on a lake with almost 11 acres to romp around on. A very quiet and private spot with a kayak and canoe. Great swimming and fishing. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the comforts of home. The bedding is very comfortable. The kitchen is a cooks delight. Just bring some food and your clothes. Everything else is supplied for you. With a location minutes away from Cabot Creamery and a close distance to Montpelier, there is lots to do all year round.
Wow! We had the best time at Heatherâs house. The home is charming, comfortable, well equipped, and perfect for a family. Our kids had so much fun fishing and swimming in the pond. My favorite aspect of this home is lots of privacy and unbelievably views of the water from the kitchen and living room. Thank you Heather!
The pond and the pond access are amazing. Love how quiet it is. I wish I had had more time to read out there by the water. Thanks for a wonderful venue and very easy stay.
Though the weather was not the best, unfortunately. This place was a great getaway. Beautiful views of the water, and the property was very well manicured.
8 of my high school friends (now senior citizens) traveled with us to celebrate my 70th birthday. The house was comfortable and we all enjoyed staying there. The kitchen was perfect for feeding a big group. We were there during "mud season" so I'd suggest renting a 4 wheel drive vehicle and bringing boots.
This cabin is a perfect location for a peaceful and beautiful getaway and it has all you need to enjoy friends and family. We came with bags of groceries and cooked, puzzled, snowshoed, relaxed, recharged our body batteries and reconnected with our friends. Its great for families with children or for adult getaways and it has all you need. If you like to cook its wonderful as the kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The hardware store/bar and local market is close enough that you can run out if you need anything. The views are spectacular and I would highly recommend this cabin in any season. We are considering going back in summer to fish!
Beautiful location, rustic charm, off the beaten path. We chose the Christmas week, and we knew it would be cold, but it was bitter. Once we warmed the farmhouse up, we had a great time and we had 6-8 inches of snow on Christmas Eve which made the view out across the frozen lake just breathtaking. The farmhouse catered well for 5 guests (with 3 cars) and the kitchen was well equipped to handle Christmas dinner.
This is our 3rd time staying in this cute Cabot home during the holidays. Our son lives about 25 minutes from this house but his home is not big enough for all of us to visit at once. We enjoy the peaceful setting, the large kitchen for preparing meals and great conversations, the extra dining table for puzzles and game time, let alone the beautiful view. We hope one of these days to visit this house in the warmer months to enjoy lake life. Thank you!
Beautiful, peaceful property on pond, quiet and clean! Art in the home is fun and eclectic. We are so Thankful this property allows dogs without a weight restriction. This helped us include our dogs without the worry of leaving the dogs at an expensive dog boarding place. We had so much fun hiking, running and walks, with strolls around local attractions and leaf peeping; all with the dogs ! Cabot is a nice town and the property is located within 1-2 hours of major attractions such as Montpelier and Stowe. We did not have to contact property manager but notes and details in VRBO are adequate and friendly. Thanks for a great vacation.
My friends and I enjoyed a relaxing getaway at this Vermont cabin. Great communication with the owner. The house was very clean and had many amenities. Beautiful views of the pond and trees out back.
We've stayed here several times and plan on coming back. Beautiful antique home that has been tastefully re-done. In defense to other complaints I like the Artwork Heather has. If you want bland Art stay at a hotel.
Fabulous week by the lake. Kayaking and Swimming most days. House is in a beautiful & quiet location. My parents, wife and puppy loved the break and are already keen to book a return trip next summer.
We completely enjoyed our week at the Pond House! The dogs loved swimming in the pond off the private island. We loved the privacy, spacious backyard with Adirondack chairs, kitchen, and overall vibe of the property. The house had plenty of room, good wifi for a couple of us working remotely and a huge kitchen that we made good use of. We did have a couple visits from a local skunk in the backyard so watch your dogs if you have them! The loons were beautiful to listen to and we saw a family of beavers one day when we went kayaking. It was very clean, well equipped, and quiet (aside from the occasional car going by). Stargazing is a must. We would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful historic Vermont cape farmhouse on a very large private pristine pond (lake) with only a few other houses on the pond and no motor boats. Lovely area for walks and canoe/kayak (supplied) rides and swimming- pet friendly. House has everything you need . Very clean; a beautiful kitchen with all the tools needed to make fine meals. An extraordinary and relaxing stay.
Despite the ever changing, mostly grey and spitting weather, my grown kids, friends, and one happy five year-old thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, peaceful spot on the planet. Highlights included kayaking in the reeds, the loonsâ noghtly chorus, and reading my book on the little island in the sun the last day. I feel connected to the place â family, laughter, love, beauty, peace and silky water can make that happen! Thank you for sharing your special place, Heather. We will be back in some iteration next year!
Well, I don't want anyone else to know what a great place this is because I tried to rent it for the next 2 summers for a week and it was already booked!!!
It is a beautiful property on a quiet pond. The listing says it all. So so peaceful. Gorgeous views of the lake from the amazing kitchen and living room. Very comfortable. Yes, there is a road nearby and you hear occasional car blasting down the road but it is few and far between.
Bring bicycles - mountain is best - there is great riding on the road. Very hilly but a fun ride up and down.
I wish we had our water shoes as there are large and small rocks in the water. "ouch" The water shoes would have made it more pleasant as we spent every day in the water.
As for adult games, there were only a couple. Monopoly was missing many pieces but playable and Scrabble. There were a few puzzles too.
There were plenty of towels for us. We had drinkable water via a Brita filter which was a bonus as so many places one needs to bring in water. There is a washer and dryer in the basement which came in handy on rainy days to dry things out.
Phil and Heather were great and Phil helped us out a couple of times.
